eBay Glitch is turning on Out of Stock feature and won't stay turned OFF
Summary: mandicrafts is experiencing an issue where the "Out of Stock" option on their eBay listings turns on by itself after each sale, creating ghost listings with 0 quantity. Despite attempts to turn it off, it reactivates, impacting both .ca and .com platforms. lotzofuniquegoodies suggests it might be a setting issue and mentions similar experiences with listings changing status unexpectedly. They recommend checking forums for reported issues, especially on the dot com site, but note that eBay has not addressed these technical problems. mandicrafts clarified that their settings are correctly configured, yet the problem persists.
For a few weeks now, I am finding that the Out of Stock option turns on by itself as soon as I sell something! It creates a 0 qty Active listing. I keep turning it off and it keeps turning itself back on. This applies to both .ca and .com (I list on both).
It is annoying. They are "ghost" listings. No you cannot accidentally sell an item again, because the active listing has 0 quantity. I do not know if these ghost listings use up any freebie listings, though.
To check if you have these "ghost" listings, while in your Active Listings screen click on the "status" filter. If you have any, it will show with a qty for "out of stock". You can click on that, and then officially END those ghost listings.
The actual setting for Out of Stock, is on your account under Selling Preferences > Keep multi qty listings active with out of stock. It is a toggle. Interesting to note, my listings are NOT multi qty listings. They are vintage one-offs.

·2 weeks ago@mandicrafts Must be some kind of weird setting that is magically kicking in. I've never set/changed that setting on my listings. In checking status it just advises me a have a certain number relisting today. Nothing else. Under main filters it does say that I have 24 listings that are missing country but I can't view them through that/those filter(s). Only way is through bulk edit which I am not a big fan of. Are you seeing anything weird if you open one of those ended listings as a test to "try" to relist?

OP2 weeks agoWhen I look at "inactive" listings, the ones I had to end for having 0 qty do not show up. I have to change the "status" to "all" and then they show up. That is kind of weird. But I was able to relist it (I tested) once I found it.
The setting isn't in your listing. It is on your Account Settings under Seller Preferences. I've never had this issue before. EVER. Just in the last few weeks, and I've discovered it changes back to ON when I sell something.

·2 weeks ago · EditedI checked my settings in sellers preference earlier. There were set properly. The only thing I and others have noticed over the course of eBay time is listings ending relisting by magic and listings that have ended the same way. (Situations which eBay has never been willing to address.)
As a side there should be a technical issues forum for Canadian ebay users. Have you checked to see if your issue was reported on the dot com forum. They have a large variety of other forums at their disposal.
