eBay is pranking sellers now?
Summary: In this discussion, lud-4367 shares a confusing experience with eBay, receiving an email indicating an increase in selling limits, but upon checking, found they were not eligible for more. byto253 and mrdutch1001 received similar notifications but didn't let it affect their activities, as they don't use the full limit. recped humorously mentions having larger limits and discusses differences between old and new account options. aviatorsparadise suggests eBay may be removing limits for trusted sellers. hansatrade humorously questions the need for such high limits. Overall, participants express both humor and confusion around eBay's communication regarding selling limits.
Recieved an email (for another account) from ebay saying,
Your selling limits on eBay have increased
I clicked a link, and it says,
Currently, you've listed or sold 276 items of your 5,000,000 monthly limit. You can list or sell up to C $4,982,100.74 more to reach your C $5,000,000.00 monthly limit. |
I then clicked a link again, and it says,
Unfortunately, you're not currently eligible for a selling limit increase.
WTH is this? 😂

·2 years agoI wonder what do you sell, if having a 5.000.000 monthly limit, you still requested a limit increase? 😅

·2 years agoSeems like they are basically getting rid of sales limits for good sellers. Guess they figure we passed thier test haha $10million here I come! lol
recped
·2 years agoI feel bad for you people with your paltry $% Million limits!
eBay gave me a bump to 10 Million Dollars and 10 Million Items!
On my old pre published limits accounts still do not show any limits and the Selling Limit pane of the Hub isn't even available to view on those accounts.
Old account Hub without limits option (missing Limits and Feature Announcements)
Newer account (2012) Hub with Limits and bonus Feature Announmcements
The "old" accounts do have limits but in order to see them you have to call eBay and ask them to make them viewable.

·2 years agoGot the email and in Seller Hub states:
392 listed and sold / 5M limit on quantity of items
C $5M more
But I totally ignore, as at most I wouldn't/couldn't list more than 1000 items, as I am downsizing/donating locally and could care less what quantity I can or cannot list on eBay...

·2 years agoI got the message but did not bother clicking, assuming that if there was an increase it would show in my account info. Not really relevant for me anyway, I only use a fraction of the current limit.
Edit:
Just checked my account and I now have a 5,000,000,000 monthly listing limit and $5M CDN, which is way more than I had. Perhaps when you clicked on the increase request, it was to go past that amount. Did you have the 5 million limit before?

OP2 years agoI have the same, but not sure if it's changed today or not since I never pay attention to it. When I got the email from ebay, I somehow thought they were increasing the free listings on my account, but no change. Whatever they are doing with this promotion is just plain nothing.

·2 years ago... Increasing the free listings 🤣😂😅 That would have been nice!
