eBay Labels options to USA vs Fedex/UPS
Summary: lotzofuniquegoodies shared a comparison of shipping rates between eBay labels and Fedex/UPS, noting that eBay's rates are roughly double those of Canada Post. chicweb and lotzofuniquegoodies discuss the increasing costs of Fedex internationally, suggesting that location impacts the rates. cottagewoman expresses concerns about the limited shipping options for Canadian sellers, advocating for more tools and options like API integration with other shipping services to improve efficiency. Meanwhile, reallynicestamps mentions distrust towards FedEx pricing due to reports of hidden fees and price changes post-purchase. The general consensus is a need for better shipping solutions to support Canadian sellers.
For anyone interested here is a comparison for available showing with ebay labels vs Fedex/UPS or by another name, where have all the shipping options gone.
eBay Labels - Approx twice the price for Fedex/UPS compared to CP
UPS to Calgary to LA
Fedex Calgary to LA
UPS Calgary to Wpg
Fedex Calgary to Wpg
Rates above are non negotiated. Discounted rates that we have with CP are substantial due to the volume involved. Rate negotiations are worth the effort. Posted for reference/comparison only. US sellers have access to a full line of shipping options for UPS etc for domestic shipping.

·1 year agoFrankly I would never trust any price given on the FedEx site, or even one charged when the label is printed. There are too many reports of later charges against credit cards for never advertised uppricing by FedEx.
Also if the buyer accepts the package which is presented without import fees, and later refuses to pay them, FedEx has a nasty habit of coming back to the seller /exporter and grabbing those fees.

OP1 year agoFedex was not implemented as advertised.

·1 year agoeBay needs to get out in front for us as sellers, given the massive changes occurring in the landscape of trade especially with the US. We need to be able to sell more efficiently to our domestic market and internationally outside of the US. Period. Otherwise we all sink.

·1 year agoAt least, if they give us as many options for UPS/FedEX, that would be a start.
I would like seeing API integration with ChitChat, Stallion and others. They all offer API to work with. As a developper, those tools are what they need to integrate it with Calculated Shipping. They just need to sit down and do it.
That would already be a step in the good direction to allow us to "survive" when things like this happens.

·1 year ago@lotzofuniquegoodies I see you posted a thread. nice.
Is that normal the 77.10$ for fedex internationnally you mentionned in another thread? I've tested France, UK, etc... seems to be the minimum with FedEx right now.
Wasn't it lower in the past??

That discrepancy would be caused by the fact you are in 3 Rivers vs me being in Calgary. You are a short scoot to Mtl where EU countries would get forwarded to. It's possible there have been increaseses recently that we weren't entirely in the loop for.
