ebay removed a Yupoog VW hat saying it's counterfeit but the VW store is selling yupoong hats!
Summary: stereoasis expressed frustration over eBay removing their listing for a Yupoong flexfit VW hat, labeling it as counterfeit, despite similar hats being sold by the official VW store and others on eBay. byto253 and needsmorerobots acknowledge that similar situations occur frequently and suggest moving on to avoid risking account suspension. byto253 explains that the issue can arise from selling outside approved channels. edubb101 shares a comparable experience with a Bayern Munich patch, attributing the listing removal to channel sales rather than authenticity. videotimeplus also faced difficulties with eBay removing a high-value authentic item, ultimately deciding to sell other items instead.
ebay removed my listing after almost a year of trying to sell it saying the yupoong flexfit VW hat is counterfeit:

The brand is yupoong from Korea which has the license to make many brand hats and the official VW store in Canada is selling yupoong flexfit hats:

Not only that, but many other sellers on ebay are selling yupoong flexfit VW branded hats:

The alleged experts at the ebay disputes team wouldn't accept any of my ovwerwhelming evidence the hat is not fake just like the others ones being sold on ebay or on the VW official merchandise store and said that my account could be suspended even though I've been with them for over 24 years and have perfect feedback and have never had a counterfeit item before.
I find this all hard to believe and nothing like this has ever happened to me on ebay.

·2 years agoThis also happened to me with an authentic rare turbografx cd game worth more than $2k. Had no choice but to move on and sell other items.

·2 years agoHello,
I had something similar. It was an authentic Bayern Munich Official Patch. I know because I bought it from their website. This was taken down not because of authenticity but rather the sales channel that byto253 was referring to was not approved. Someone from the club actually contacted ebay and had the listing flagged and taken down.
Interesting that your situation involved Volkwagon and mine was with Bayern Munich.
All the best

·2 years agoSometimes it is not that the item is not legit, but a company has that something is being sold outside of approved sales channels. I have read that one, even though the same thing is being sold by many others. Trying to figure out the logic for some things can give you a migraine.

·2 years agoKeep in mind, Ebay may have removed it because of one or more complaints of the listing came from members.
I had a CD removed and I'm fairly positive it was a member and not the corporation itself, but trying to reverse such a decision would've cost me more money (my time) then the CD was worth.
Best decision one can make in that situation is to sell it elsewhere.

·2 years agoWe see similar posts from time to time. About all you can do if your case is not being over turned is to move on. Just be sure to not list it again. It sucks but from what I have read you will be expending a lot of energy for nothing and risking your account.
