eBay Support Failed to Act for Months — Then Blamed 30-Day Policy
Summary: graymarket25 raised a concern about inadequate support from a popular marketplace, where action on an issue was delayed for several months. During this period, the marketplace blamed their inaction on a 30-day policy, leading to frustration. Other participants, including recped and femmefan1946, interacted on the topic, although no specific solutions or outcomes were discussed within the conversation.
I’ve been trying to resolve this issue since August and have called eBay support multiple times. Buyers were refunded, but they still kept the items. Supervisors repeatedly told me that my cases were “escalated to the backend” to fix the amounts owed, but that turned out to be false. Nothing was ever done.
Now, months later, I’m being told that the decisions “can’t be changed” because they’re over 30 days old. This is unacceptable, especially since I’ve been actively following up since the beginning and was told multiple times that the cases were under review. eBay’s own delays and misinformation caused this situation, not my inaction.
To make matters worse, my account was restricted for two months, yet I was still charged store subscription fees. I was told those would be refunded, but they never happened.
I’ve shown patience and done everything by the book. To be told that the case decision will remain because of a 30-day policy after months of trying to resolve this feels like eBay is punishing the seller for trusting their own support process.
I’m asking for a real escalation to someone who can review the call and case history, verify that I’ve been contacting support since August, and correct this.

Your buyer has 30 days from delivery to open a Not As Described claim.
You can have a No Returns policy but you cannot have a No Refunds policy.
If you have a No Returns policy, you can still demand the return of the purchase before refunding,
But again.
You cannot have a No Refunds policy.
When we get an NAD claim, we sellers are required to respond in the Claim.
Normally that is by sending Return Shipping.
We can buy USPS labels through Shippo among other carriers or through eBay.
When we get the unwanted item back, we refund.
Then most sellers will examine the item, and surprisingly often discover the buyer was right.
If the item is still saleable, we redescribe and relist and resell.
If the buyer was mendacious, we can add them to out Blocked Buyer List.
Returns and refunds are a business expense and can be deducted from your eBay income when your make your tax declaration.

·11 months agoCancelling orders, not shipping on time, probably not responding to refund requests and letting eBay decide them.......I'm a bit surprised eBay hasn't shut you down completely.
If you want to post the short form version of the issues maybe we can determine how you mishandled your situation.
