Ebay taking an extra day to process funds now?
Summary: fergua3 expresses frustration over increased processing times for funds from sales on a platform, which used to be available the next day but now take two days. lotzofuniquegoodies, femmefan1946, and hansatrade share similar experiences and discuss possible reasons, such as the effect of holidays like Labor Day on processing times. hansatrade also mentions that errors or policy changes could be to blame, while sapphyres-designer-jewellery and transtraders suggest that delays commonly occur during holiday weekends. Overall, participants express concern over the trend of increasing delays, suspecting it may be due to system inefficiencies or policy changes.
Used to be if i made a sale on the 5th the funds would be available on the 6th, around midnight PST. Now they are available on the 7th. WTH? This is the second time since the roll out of managed payments they have lengthened processing times.

·Sep 7, 2026 at 11:40 PMIt's like this always when there's a stat. My sales today are going to be processed tomorrow, but my sales on the 5th were processed today (the 7th). There's always a day of lag on the weekend when a stat is concerned.

OPSep 8, 2026 at 2:57 AMdid you actually see the money hit your available funds yet today or is it going to happen overnight? Mine says the 7th too but has not appeared yet in available funds. Normally the funds would have showed up yesterday overnight and i would have seen the money in my available funds this morning (the 7th) when i got up.

·3 weeks agoNormally the money hits very late at night (on whatever day it says it's going to clear). I go to bed at 9pm most nights and I don't have my money yet.

·Sep 7, 2026 at 7:42 PM · EditedIt always took almost 2 days. If I sold an item on Monday 2 PM, the money was available on Tuesday midnight, so available for transfer almost 2 days later, on Wednesday. This weekend delay is caused by the Labour day. Concerning the Ponzi scheme: that might apply to newly opened accounts, where money is on hold for almost 1 month.

OPSep 7, 2026 at 9:36 PMeven sales i made Christmas day did not experience any extra delay in being processed. Labour Day Weekend has nothing to do with it...it's all computerized anyway. There is no justification for payment processing taking longer and longer. This is the second time since inception of MP that the payment processing time has increased, and the most significant increase, a full day.

·Sep 7, 2026 at 9:56 PM · EditedApparently, you get a special treatment from Ebay - here are my payments, and you can clearly see the Labour Day delay.

OPSep 8, 2026 at 12:06 AMso why was my sale on the 5th not processed on the 6th then? There is no saturday or sunday delay. What this does tell me is the extra day's delay that i am experiencing on both sales and you on one sale is probably just a glitch and not a new ebay policy. So that is good.

·Sep 8, 2026 at 2:39 AMI'm telling you this happens every single stat, and the delay is something like Saturday to Monday, it doesn't align exactly with the stat. If you don't get sales every single day of the week you might not notice the delay, but I tend to have lots of sales on long weekends and this happens every single time the Stat is on a Monday.

·Sep 7, 2026 at 4:27 PMI have my transfers set to the default Tuesday.
They always come through, although earlier in the day on some accounts than others.
Did you have yours set for daily or monthly transfers?
It has been reported that although eBay is pretty good about making the transfer available some banks are slow to put them into the customers' accounts.

OPSep 7, 2026 at 5:24 PMthe issue is not transferring money to my bank account (this time). The issue is it is taking Ebay a day longer to process funds and make them available to me, after a sale. Used to be by next morning. Then it became next day but around midnight PST (3am ET), and now it is TWO days after sale at midnight PST. I have two sales, one of Sept 5th that wont be processed until midnight PST tonight and the other on the 6th that won't be processed until Sept 8th at midnight PST. This is clearly a recent change because a sale i had towards the end of last month was processed the next day by midnight PST like has been happening for a while now...prior to that the funds were available to me early in the morning the day after a sale...so now there is a day and a half delay on that and 2 1/2 days total for the funds to be made available..

·Sep 7, 2026 at 5:36 PMAre you taking into account the Labour Day weekend? Sept 5 was Friday.
What do you mean by "available to me"? As in, I want to buy something with the payment from this sale?
fergua3
OPSep 7, 2026 at 5:54 PMi mean in my 'available funds' so i can withdraw if i want to. It's Ebay's trend that is bugging me. It used to take less than 24 hours to have funds made available after a sale. Now it's 2 1/2 days. Ebay is building a big slush fund of seller's funds that are 'in processing' and they are benefitting from it. The amount in this slush fund is in the many millions no doubt and it is about to double in size with this latest extra day added to the time it takes to process seller's payments once a sale is made. Holidays have never been an issue before in the PROCESSING TIME of payments from sales and putting them in 'available funds', only in the time it takes for those funds to hit a bank account once they are sent by Ebay.

I've found my releases usually towards end of the 48 hour window. (Might even be helpful to show date processed along with the date of sale as part of the line info vs having to open everything.) Same deal with eBay label charges...to complete the cycle. (Date generated...Date completed...w/tracking number vs transaction id. (ID would be visible when you opened the transaction.)
Yet charges and credits are immediate....even IF the funds haven't processed. In speaking to buyers recently for refunds it can take several 3,4,5 days to get back to their method of payment. They had inquired asking if it was something I was doing at my end. I explained it was out of my control.
This follows back to charges supposedly being immediate for labels being based on sort plant first scans. This is NOT accurate.

OPSep 7, 2026 at 3:58 PMwell the time for the funds to be made available to the seller is getting longer and longer. Ebay wants to build their slush fund of unavailable seller's money bigger, methinks. It would total in the tens of millions and always be available to Ebay to use elsewhere because as they (eventually) make the money available to the seller by then more money has come in to be 'processed' and the slush fund stays roughly the same size and can be used for anything Ebay wants. It's sort of like a ponzi.
I explained why the money takes so long to go back into your bank account in the message u sent me.
