eBay Terms of Service Change - Opt OUT of AI
Summary: tryubik-useonlyasdirected shared that eBay has changed their Terms of Service, automatically enrolling users into the AI Development and Training program, with instructions on how to opt-out. brettjet38 expressed surprise and noted the importance of regularly checking account settings due to such changes. lotzofuniquegoodies argued that individual opt-outs might not significantly impact the AI's learning due to the nature of data input. Following this, tryubik-useonlyasdirected and mrdutch1001 exchanged brief comments, with mrdutch1001 joking about AI surveillance.
eBay has again changed their Terms of Service and they auto-enrolled everyone into the AI Development and Training.
To Opt-Out turn off the toggle in:
My eBay > Account > AI Training Preferences

·1 year agoI wonder how many of us dashed over to that link and deactivated it...
I know I did, this is why you have to verify all your account settings at least 2 times a year, eBay and it's sneaky "add-on" to their user agreement tactics.

Personally, any quantity of users having the setting on or off will not really have much of an overall affect as to what the AI is learning/digesting. Both good and bad. (Garbage in<>Garbage out?>
