Etsy Suspension of Canada Post shipping labels to US as of Aug 25
Summary: palmerstonpicks shares an update about Etsy suspending postage label purchases for international shipments to the US from certain postal services due to tariff processing issues, sparking concern about eBay's potential actions. chicweb plans to halt US shipments until a solution is found. ilikehockeyjerseys references other postal services that have already suspended US shipping, suggesting it may be prudent to prepare for a similar move by Canada Post. lotzofuniquegoodies sarcastically remarks on the situation, questioning when US sellers will face similar tariff challenges. easoss is sending US orders until a certain deadline, while a local marketplace sustains their business. Meanwhile, jtg204 mentions eBay disabling certain shipping options as of August 25.
Just received an update from Etsy:
As of August 25, Etsy will suspend postage label purchases for international orders to the US from Royal Mail, Evri, Canada Post and Australia Post.
The notice says this because 'these carriers will be unable to deliver due to inability to process tariffs'
What will be ebay's move?

·11 months agoI'm taking US orders until Saturday at noon so I can get them out that afternoon. After that no more US shipments until this whatever it is gets settled. My local PO hasn't been told anything and frankly I know more (which isn't much). Thank goodness for my local marketplace it's more than keeping me going.

I will remove US shipping from all my listings late Sunday night or Monday morning. Hopefully, if Canada Post announces anything about a suspension of US orders, we at least have a days notice.

Multiple postal services have already announced that they will suspend US shipping services until further notice.
It would be reasonable to prepare for the possibility that Canada Post might suspend US shipping. They haven't announced any DDP system, and without one the US presumably will not accept packages, even through the postal service.
Nobody knows if eBay will suspend labels pre-emptively, or if they will only suspend them if Canada Post makes an announcement that they cannot accept US orders.
Nobody knows if Canada Post will suspend US shipments, but other postal services already doing so makes it a reasonable thing to speculate about and prepare for.

Does anyone know when US sellers will start paying for Canadian & Intl buyers tariffs and customs processing?I guess they (US & Intl sellers) got a pass from the get go for this to happen? It would seem fair if this was the default in play!!
Apologies for this post. My tongue got stuck in my cheek.

I suspect Never! as Canadians are "mean"and "nasty" and Canada is "difficult to deal with", so what DT has been telling the USA for months> that tariffs will be paid by the exporter, not the USA will come to fruitation in DT's scheme to bring in trillions$, with his "getrichquick" scheme of "Let's make America Rich!"....This whole tariff fiasco that the rest of the world has been tossed into, is not in the true nature of what tariffs are really intended for or what tariffs should be used for... However, this is how a greedy authoritarian dictator gets what he wants...
For myself I will not give the USA 1c of tariff monies...I refuse to pay tariffs that the buyer is supposed to pay and therefore I am on another mission>I believe all non-USA sellers need to unite and do business with each other where, when,if feasible and also grow our business within our own countries and support the economy of our own country....let's be positive and make some good come of this fiasco and find the ways necessary to no longer rely on the USA for any part of our online selling businesses.
