Help: ChitChats Returns from outside of Canada.
Summary: phoenixhobbies shared their positive experience switching from Canada Post to Chit Chats, noting that it's more reliable and convenient, especially with cheaper shipping attracting more buyers. They pointed out a major issue with returns, as Chit Chats requires a US return address for items sent back from outside Canada, leading to potential disposal of undeliverable items. They inquired about the feasibility of renting a US PO box or other solutions. flipistics suggested using services like Shippsy for handling returns, or renting a mailbox across the border with parcel hold options.
Hello,
I switched from Canada Post to Chit Chats 2 months ago.
I'm liking it allot better. Getting more buyers because of cheaper shipping. I find it to be allot more reliable and convenient. The only con I found is returns, coming back from outside of Canada and needing a US return address to recive the item back.
If you don't have a US return address/PoBox, the return goes to disposal. So far I'm only selling things under $40, so it's not a huge loss. I only had one return due to incorrect address and it was only a $12 item, my only option was to dispose because I do not have a US return address/POBox.
I'm almost thinking to keep shipping with Canada Post for anything over $50 for coverage on returns? Is it worth renting a US POBox for returns? Setting up the ChitChats Return address, sounds complicated. Any ideas on a way around the ChitChats return set up, on how to deal with ChitChats returns from outside of Canada?
Thank you for your time and help. 😊

·1 year agoYou could possibly set up an account with Shippsy for returns. Alternatively, there's lots of places across the border where you can get a mailbox and pay only to receive a parcel (usually $5 or so). They usually hold them for a while. You'd have to periodically pop across the border to retreive them though.
