How are people sales so far this August?
Summary: In the discussion about August sales, several participants shared their experiences. mrdutch1001 mentioned a notable lack of sales, linking it to the removal of US shipping options. flipistics and reallynicestamps also reported slow sales, noting that August tends to be generally slower and attributing it to seasonal preferences. 100milehowie expressed frustration with zero sales and speculated on the impact of tariffs and consumer frugality. silverpinups shared a contrasting experience with mixed results over the summer but pointed out a positive start for August, while videotimeplus reported a better sales performance compared to previous months. The overall sentiment highlights a challenging summer for sales, marked by variations based on location and market conditions.
Curious if its a specific or generalized lul.

·1 year agoIt's been one of our better months so far this year in terms of amount of items sold, August 5 has been the only day this month with no sale. May and June were quite miserable for us though from all the tariff and CP uncertainty.

·1 year agoJune through August are always slow... I had a pretty good June (over 2,000 usd in sales), July was very bad with 2 sales and August is off to a good start with 5 sales. I sent offers on 180 items at 22% off asking price that inspired those sales.
Many collectors pull back in the summer months and focus on family and holidays. There should be a pickup later in September but I'll wait and see if TACO follows through with his de minimis threat.

·1 year agoZERO. This is a first for me. I offer an assortment of items and ship mostly to the US. This summer has been disapointing. I'm thinking that American buyers are wary of uncertain tarrifs due and Canadian buyers are exercising frugality in light of possible tough times ahead. I don't know. I find it difficult to get enthused about listing more items while I feel so discouraged. I am wavering between quitting ebay and waiting out this inactive time.

·1 year agoI can't confirm your supposition. August was always slow, so is this year, too. Not better nor worse...
75% of orders go to the USA, 25% go to International/Canada - as usual.

·1 year agoAugust is always a poor month for sales, but this weekend was only two sales (on different accounts) and both were cancelled before payment.
Sigh.
My strong period is normally Boxing Day to March, and in 2024 that continued through to late June.
I noticed that my international sales have increased as have my domestic (Canada) sales, but my US sales are way down.

·1 year agoVery slow start to the month for me, after a pretty good second half of July. A lot of the stuff I sell aren't really summer type items though.

·1 year agoa big fat 0, nadda, nothing, zippo, zilch..., but much of that may be contributed to the fact that I deleted shipping to the USA...
