How can I get Ebay to refund me for a shipment I sent out?
I sent out a package with a shipping label I bought from Ebay and the delivery is over a week late and the package got damaged during shipping to boot and I'll probably have to refund the buyer. So I'm wondering if I can get Ebay to refund me for the shipping label as well as the product on behalf of the shipping company, which is UPS?
Thanks in advance.

Apologies. My default is to not EVER use UPS unless customer specifically requests it. Attached is link for UPS. The main problem for an eBay user when using eBay labels and trying to make a claim is not having ALL the required info to fill in the boxes.

In the past ) several years ago when a seller was using their own courier account) it was fairly straightforward to make a claim. Access to the required info was there at our finger tips
Up until several months ago there was an option to void a label with eBay labels. That feature was removed with no fanfare or an announcement from ebay. Now the "idea" is if the label goes unused you will be credited as per eBay messaging. The system gives you mixed info stating that labels will get charged shortly after creating. Now the consistency is there is no consistency to that billing.
Anyone recently recall not using a label and then not getting charged?? With the way labels created an the billing side it has become very challenging to verify.
When it comes to claims and getting a credit you "try" processing via the service used....CP, Fedex, UPS and cross fingers. The issue can be technically eBay owns the eBay label accounts...Not the user. Making a claim gets even messier if contact with delivery party is required. The eBay email address we get for buyers only works within eBay. Not via any 3rd parties. You can hope you still have access to hopefully a valid phone number. The one on file is not always still in service.
In the past with CP there were "service guarantees" on certain services. That went into limbo during covid and may now only apply to the premium premium services. (Xpresspost/PriorityPost/Fedex Air). This can get even muddier when customs is involved.
Here is a quick search on the topic.
