Huge difference eis shipping charge between equally sized items

I noticed that the eis shipping fee (not import fee, just shipping fee) on some of my listings is extremely high.
I compared two items that have the same weight and the exact same size dimensions and there is a huge difference in shipping to the same zip code in the US.
One item ( a bra) had a $25.71 shipping fee. The other a t shirt had a $66.64 shipping fee.
Weight is 300g dimensions are 28 x 24 x 6 CM.
Again, this does not include the import fee.
Is this a problem for anyone else? Am I missing something that makes this make sense?
Or is this why my US sales are down 40%?
Any insight is appreciated.

·2 weeks agoThinking about this, I've noticed a lot of eIS orders actually transit through the USA first before being forwarded to their international destinations. I wonder if the tariffs and other regulations are now changing that? Maybe some of the categories being affected with the elevated charges are due to those items now having to ship directly from Canada using more expensive couriers?

·1 week agoYeah, I'm not sure either. I'm guessing that their shipping partner (who I think is EasyShip) doesn't have a contract with them yet. Hopefully that will change since they should definitely have the volume for it now.

For my listings, the main thing is price. The pricier the item, the more expensive shipping is via eIS (I'm not talking about taxes/duy/fees, btw - just shipping cost).

OP2 weeks agoThe second set of listings I compared, the suit and the blazer both made in Canada were the same price.
With the latest news on trade, I'm just going to ignore what's going on with eis and consider any sale to the US as a bonus. thanks for weighing in everyone!

OP2 weeks agoCOO for the $25.71 shipping fee item is from China and the COO for the $66.64 shipping fee is from Peru.
I figured any tariff related charge is covered in the Import fee? Am I wrong on that?
I've looked at other listings of mine and a suit that I edited to have the same weight and dimensions as a blazer both made in Canada, both wool, have a difference of $50 shipping fee.

·2 weeks agoeIS seems to have a few bugs atm. I was having issues with international shipping costs for anything that's a figurine. Hopefully they'll get it sorted out.

·2 weeks ago@flipistics Have you been able to determine if list price directly affects shipping cost? I have seen similar items listed with eis but major difference in selling price. Seems to make a major difference when it comes to shipping. Then it "could" affect final final price if item sells with best offer. My comparisons are for identical books, DVD's and single lapel pins. I do know US sellers have good rates for sending to hub. But does it matter where each seller is located and/or how accurate their packaging estimate is. Both "might" be causing these nightmarish discrepancies. As far as we know eBay/eIS does not have a policy in situations where the weight/size is smaller than what seller quotes.

·2 weeks agoNo, it doesn't seem to (or if it does it isn't much). The prices were elevated for more than just the USA on those items also, so it doesn't appear to be tariff related.

·2 weeks agoOne thing that will be directly affecting overall final prices buyers see and pay are with eIS, tariffs include shipping. Same goes for anything using courier. In the past....(when parcels were shipping by mail) any applicable tariffs did not factor in the postage portion.

Hi @flipistics ! I can confirm that the eIS team is in the process of making updates and working with shipping partners to make improvements they hope to roll out soon.
