i dont want EIS to be the default service for international shipping. How?

Ive noticed my sales to the US took a huge noise dive in the last few weeks. At the same time, i have noticed that Ebay International Shipping has been made the default international shipping service instead of my own shipping service which was much much cheaper and allowed me to stay competitive with Us sellers. For example, for a $140 item i have for sale, i was charging $30 shipping and EIS is charging $180 include import fees. Thats a hugely ridiculous difference that absolutely guarantees no buyers for my item. I looked in shipping settings and there is no way to remove EIS from being the default. Any suggestions?
P.S. yes, my own shipping options are still there but no prospective buyer is going to click thru the menu and select them. and search algorithms will use the inflated EIS shipping cost to place my listing way at the bottom

·4 days agoTHIS SEEMS TO BE FIXED. Had a couple jewelry sales come in the last couple days with my own shipping to the UK chosen. Checked this afternoon - the default shipping rate shown on listing load is now showing my much cheaper rate to the UK and Switzerland which I setup via rate tables (some Asian countries as well -.got.a sale to Japan).

·5 days agoEbay international shipoing on the American side is trash. A moron shipped me an ill-packed item. Not only was it damaged, it took two weeks to get to me. When i reported the damage to the selker, even though he was responsible for the damage, he said not my issue, contact Ebay.

·5 days agoThat is how eIS works in general, not just the USA. If a seller gets too many of those, theoretically they'll be booted from the program though. While it's nice to give the seller a heads up (maybe they're just naive about how much packing is needed to safely ship an item), they are correct. eBay handles all cases for eIS shipments and it's them you deal with via opening a case, not the seller.

Tonight I noticed mine and others that did this are showing Tracked Packet USA as default again?

·2 weeks agoDevon replied in one of the other threads that the shipping team is working with their shipping partners and is in the process of making improvements to the eIS program. There should be an announcement about it in the near future.

·2 weeks agowe'll 110$ vs 13.95$ is not something that should be there. Something is terribly broken and needs to be fixed - shut the damn program down until it is.

If this is all about you guys adding in a huge buffer to handle having to pay us out if there's a problem, that's ridiculous. This same listing shows 75$ shipping costs for US buyers plus the tariff costs!

I'm the opposite - I want eIS for the US because dear God in heaven above there is no way to handle all of the variables to ship there anymore in a straightforward matter if you sell more than 1 category of product. Screen caps below- eIS of 115.30$ on my watch listing. 2nd shows my 10.95 shipping first on the list after clicking on the 'See details' link below the listing cost on the web listing version. Oh, and on the .co.uk site, the price is even wrong - it's 199.00$ CAD, not 238.80$ That looks as if their site is converting the price from USD to CAD from the source CAD price. This item is listed on .ca, NOT on .com!

·5 days ago@prosperityreiki I never pay for UK listings but I get sales to the UK constantly.
I did set my Shipping to include the UK specifically and it is my understanding that any country to which the seller gives a shipping cost will have their listings show in that country.

·5 days agoEIS includes the import fees doesn't it? Does your own shipping fee include the import fees?
Is it possible that the UK import fees are nearly 50% of the selling price for Japanese watches?

·2 weeks agoMy understanding is that in Canadian eIS's early days, the eIS development team took on board the complaints about eIS being listed as the prominent shipping method in listings where sellers offered other shipping methods and as a result, the coding for listings was fixed so that the least expensive shipping method showed up as the prominent one on listing pages and in old-school search results.
So my thinking is that there's a glitch that's caused things to revert to the original way shipping rates were displayed on eIS listings. I'd email the eIS development team to get this on their radar.

AFAIK, eIS is always the default method for shipping to countries covered by the service.

·2 weeks agoIt's not supposed to be the default as noted in seller center FAQ for EIS that the lowest option is to be shown to buyers first

·2 weeks agoWhen the program started in October, you had to opt-out if you didn't want to be included. It was (is) an invitation-only option, so you should've gotten an email from them in this regard, back then.

OP2 weeks agoI was hoping i can disable it from being the default without completely opting out just because it can be useful for shipping to the EU for example. But for shipping to the US it simply makes no sense

So, default should be the lowest, and it's stated all over the place that it should. But it isn't the case in a growing amount of listings.
