INTERNATIONAL BUYER NOT ABLE TO PURCHASE !
Summary: The discussion centers around an issue where international buyers are unable to make purchases, and the conversation transitions into concerns about zombie threads, which are revived without new information. john_koenig99 suggests implementing an automatic locking timer for inactive threads to prevent this. devon@ebay acknowledges this suggestion and agrees to share it with the Moderation team and subsequently lock the thread. The participants are actively discussing potential improvements in thread management to enhance the forum's efficiency.
i have an item listed on e bay canada that clearly states that i ship international world wide , and yet i received several messages from a buyer in FRANCE attempting to purchase and he says he keeps getting blocked by e bay saying that i do not ship over seas , i checked and re checked my listing to make sure that the worldwide shipping is activated and also it states countries that i ship to .
can anybody shed some light on this issue ? or is the buyer confused and does not know what he is doing ? or is it some kind of scam .

·8 months agoThis issue with the so-called zombie threads could be easily fixed by establishing an automatic locking timer for inactive threads (6 or 12 months, something like that).
Maybe something to consider , @devon@ebay

·8 months agoYes I have also suggested this a long time ago, I do not know why they don't especially after 12 months. (Although I suggested it to the moderator here not Devon, maybe that will work!)

·8 months agoAlternate suggestion would be most recent vs best match for search results. That was passed on to Tyler ages ago who agreed that could work. Unfortunately it went nowhere.

Hi @john_koenig99! Thank you for sharing this with me. I will share this with our Moderation team and will go ahead and have this thread locked.

·8 months agoIf you have not sold anything on eBay in recent months, perhaps it is time to reaquaint self with the CURRENT times and what is applicable to current time frame...now having said that...perhaps your rant would be better expressed and better addressed in a new thread where discussion as it pertains to today's world/today's issues and today's applicable information and advice can be given to your specific issue...

ZOMBIE THREAD FROM 2022!
marnotom!
·8 months agoFrom what I can see, you're enrolled in eBay International Shipping (eIS) and it's been applied to the listing for the Conan holograms. I don't think you can send an invoice for an item being shipped through eIS; eIS does that.
Either something's going wrong with eIS sending the invoice or else the buyer is trying to get out of the sale because the shipping is C$45 to Austria or they don't want to wait a month to receive the item. As it is, the fact that it looks as though it's taken you two weeks to get this item shipped out is going to hurt your standing with eBay a little.

·8 months agoAnd?
Surely the person who asked the question deserves some sort of response instead of a mob wrist-slapping before the thread is closed. I can't think of any instance where someone who's revived an old thread has come back to start a new thread for their question.

·1 year agoZOMBIE THREAD FROM 2022.
The problem with zombie threads is that the advice may be out of date and no longer applicable.
In this case, a new thread would be useful, since this is an ongoing problem. (I've run into it myself in the past week or so.)

·1 year agoI am a eBay purchaser (24 year account) trying for two days now to purchase from a US seller and get blocked at checkout. Says seller does not ship to Canada - Seller corrected - still blocked. We have had three eBay agents involved with excuses from shipping size/weight missing (cause its free shipping) to international shipping not specified (he's listed as an international seller) and now eBay is saying my account preferences for international purchases is not active????? Funny cause its worked for 24 years just not today. This is a $3,400.00 purchase and I feel sorry for the seller as I cannot wait forever for eBay to get off their ass and fix this issue.

·1 year agoThis may not apply as you state that the seller is using “free shipping,” but there’s a dollar limit of US$2500 for items handled by the eBay International Shipping (eIS) service. For all I know, it may be being applied to other international sales as well, particularly if the seller has little experience with shipping internationally.
What is the specific error message you're getting when you attempt to purchase the item, @purebredmutt?

·1 year agoI think marnotom may be right and it's the $3,400 amount that is triggering something.
Otherwise, another possibility is they don't have a specific shipping service/price attached to the listing.
I know myself from being on the other side (seller) when I've sold internationally, even if I say I will ship internationally, if I don't have a specific shipping service (ie Tracked Package International) with associated price entered they could not purchase. In the past they were able to put in their cart anyways and then "contact seller" or "request total" but that ability was disabled a couple of years back. In my case as soon as I added shipping with a service and price they were able to buy.
