Late Delivery — Buyer Opened INR, Now Delivered: Will eBay Close It?
Shipped a $50 international order that arrived about 2 weeks late. Buyer opened an “Item not received” case asking for a shipping refund, but eBay put the entire order on hold. I declined.
Today tracking shows it’s delivered.
Will eBay close the case automatically now without me having to refund anything?

When you gave the tracking number eBay noted that the shipment had been posted and was in transit.
Althought the customer was right and the shipment had not been delivered you were give a break and allowed not to refund immediately.
Now tracking shows that the shipment has been delivered.
Go back to the still open dispute and again give the tracking number as state plainly when the delivery was completed.
Then cross all your fingers and toes.

·11 months agoPut the tracking in the INR.
Contact customer service (ideally using the AskeBay on Twitter). Show them the item is delivered, ask them to escalate and close. You will receive a message that is deceptive because it will say something like "your funds are now on hold as we investigate", shortly after you should receive a message ruling in your favor.
The buyer isn't entitled to a refund of any kind since it was delivered. Whether you want to give them something as a courtesy after the INR is closed is entirely up to you. Unless this was some kind of error on your part, or the buyer paid extra for a service that had a guaranteed delivery date and it was extraordinarily late, I think you'll find that most people would not issue a refund unless you sell in a category that relies heavily on repeat customers. (99 percent of eBay sales for most sellers are one and done and the customer never has a reason to return, even if it went great.)

·11 months agoI'm not sure the timeline but if the case is still opened make sure you notify them that tracking now shows delivered. If it is within the alotted time it should close without you having to refund.
I'm confused though, did the buyer open the case after delivery because they wanted the shipping only refunded (late delivery reimbursement maybe?) I don't think someone can expect partial refund for shipping if item is late, especially in these crazy times. You shouldn't be liable for late delivery times beyond your control. If the buyer has the item and is happy, they could close the case.
