Somehow a lot of my listings have lost all or some of the photos I posted. Anyone else this happen to? Any quick way of fixing or do I have to go through each listing?

OP4 months agoIt is also happening on my other selling ID. I am not sure what to do here. I am dreading trying to find all my pictures. What would you do?

·4 months agoI took a quick look at your stuff on this ID, looks like around 1% are affected. In all cases I found, most of the pictures were visible as either thumbnail or inside, or all showed inside while thumbnail wasn't. Very weird symptoms.
Anyway interested parties will still be able to see most of the pictures for the affected items.
There may be an ebay fix, if there is, manually fixing stuff in the meantime effort is lost.
I would be surprised if the pictures issue causes a significant drop in sales in the meantime, especially now, as things seem to bey VERY quiet sales wise for me at least!
Hard as it is to do, I would wait to see if the fix comes, wouldn't hurt to check in on the ticket from time to time although that too is likely wasted effort.

OP4 months agoI counted and there are 176 listings on this ID that are missing the main photo. Then there are hundreds that are missing picture 2 and or 3 but the main photo is there. What a mess. I will call again on Tuesday for an update. It is slow now but this glitch doesn't help.

·4 months agoAs a note, all of my items are in "containers" usually envelopes or boxes. I have the pictures for that item written on the container ("directory" and "picture number range" - I have to have directories because my camera picture number count only goes up to 999) and I file the items by the last 3 digits of the item.
So for example item "800054456167" has this number written on the "container" (envelope) along with the pictures "R179 4896-4897" telling me the two pictures in directory 179 that are for this item. Its filed as number "167" in the box of envelopes of similar size. I keep copies of the item pictures on the cloud and on backup thumb drives. These days you can put a lot of pictures on a thumb drive so it isn't much work to keep backup copies.
This provides me with some safety in some situations, but it still is a lot of work to fix things like missing pictures. Last time I had a LOT that had only the primary picture after the "restore", I chose to leave them unfixed, if potential buyers asked I'd reload the rest, but most of them eventually sold with just the primary picture.
Hopefully this gets resolved quickly!

Hopefully this isn't similar to what happened several years ago when listing photos mysteriously poofed and in repayment we just got some free listings. In testing another sellers listings earlier with missing photos from the list view and then clicking on the actual listing the image was there. With other users it seems to be hit and miss.
With yours the Time Life 1958 the secondary photos are MIA. With Pearl Jam - Twenty all photos are live in the listing. Kathy Reid, the 3 CD images are MIA but the image you include for US sellers about customs is there. Wondering if someone tinkered "again" with min/max image size?
To quote OMC...How bizarre!!

OP4 months agoI called ebay today and they said that quite a number of people have reported pictures missing. He is passing that information up to the technical department.

·4 months agoDid they give you a ticket number? They don't always but if you can get one then at least you know that the "back office" people are actually aware and trying to fix. If they don't give you one you never know if they are actually doing something or just feeding you a line.
Have you tried revising those listings (not really changing anything other than maybe changing something in the Title and then changing it back before saving (it should fool eBay into thing you actually made an edit). This is just a a shot in the dark to see if a re-index would get those listings straightened out. Another thing might be to end one these and then relist as a new item and see if that fixes anything.
FYI - Skimmed through all your listings, there was about 65 that are not displaying the main/first image, I know there are more that are not fully displaying the secondary images but buyers don't know that until they get to the listing. That means for buyers, when doing a search, they have a slim chance of seeing them in search results. I clicked through on some of these and was surprised that for those listings the main pic was showing on the listing page.

OP4 months agoThanks for your response and looking into it for me. When I called the guy Daniel and it showed he was calling from Utah, but now adays you never know. He seemed quite concerned and checked and stated that this issue has been reported to the technical department. I gave him 4 examples, 1 were no pictures showed up and other where 1 or more were missing. I also checked and this is listings both on .com and .ca. Also as I was away for 5 months returned in April all the listings are new and this is just happened in the last couple of weeks. I did try to revise them with no changes and still pictures did not show up. I have all the pictures but it would take a long time to find them, not looking forward to doing that.
I am hoping they will get this resolved.

·4 months agoOn that listing I can see three pics but the mini for the second two does not show the actual images, when I hover over them the full size image does show, the arrows also show all 3 images when you scroll through.
From what I see the photos are there it's just the mini that doesn't display properly.

OP4 months agoIt looks like the majority of my listings have lost photos. I have almost 2500 listings so this is definately a waste of time having to find the pictures and then revising the listing. No wonder no one is looking at my listings.

·4 months agoI'd wait a couple of days to see if this just a temporary glitch or something more serious.
Wearing my hat as a buyer, I noticed this weekend there were a number of listings I viewed that were missing images.
