LUCID Registration - German Packaging Requirements
Summary: The discussion revolves around the LUCID registration related to German packaging requirements. sapphyres-designer-jewellery initiated the conversation but did not provide any content, possibly indicating a query or issue with the registration process. marnotom! and reallynicestamps responded but without additional context, leaving the details of the conversation unclear. The thread may involve questions or clarifications about complying with Germany's packaging laws, but no specific concerns or resolutions are provided.
So I registered with LUCID so I can ship to Germany. They gave me a registration number. How do I communicate this on my packages? At Stallion there is Tax IDs, but this isn't really a Tax ID, and I already have an IOSS used for eBay stuff sent to Germany.
Another thing is it says that I don't need to participate in the program because of what I sell (I've declared I use transport packaging and packaging that doesn't accumulate as waste.) The coins come in packaging, but that's not waste it's part of the item, so it won't accumulate as waste.
Since I have the registration number, I'm just wondering how I go about using it. Getting signed up is easier than I expected, and now it looks like it won't cost me anything.
Also it wanted my business address, which I provided, but Stallion's business address is what's going to be on the package (where ever NL Post items ship from).
This is all very complicated.

OP5 months agoI did some checking since I posted this (and heard from Stallion). Stallion doesn't take the number, and customs doesn't need to know it, they will look me up in their database to see if my status is compliant if they want to. The enforcement actually happens at the eBay level where I'm audited on whether or not I'm selling things to Germany. Any amount of dancing around to try and deny this won't work because eBay will have the record of sales, and the LUCID number gets recorded there.
