More customers confusing CAD and USD
Recently I've had a lot more US customers sending a message with confusion regarding CAD and USD pricing. They claim they're only seeing the CAD price when normally they would see it converted in USD. Did eBay change something on the US site that is causing this confusion?

·1 year agoThe iOS app seems to handle foreign currencies in a rather odd manner. When I look up one of your listings, @electronic_dist_intl, I see it in Canadian dollars, as it should be, but the "similar items" I see are converted to Canadian dollars with no indication that they're converted. They're not even italicized. Yet when I do a search, when there's a converted amount to display, it is in italics.
All these comparisons between .ca and .com are all well and good, but we're in Canada. It may be that the US site behaves a bit differently when the buyer or searcher is US-based. I would try to brave the .com discussion boards and ask the users there what they see when they view one of your listings and if it's clear that you're listing in Canadian dollars rather than US. Hopefully you'll get a range of views from different browsers, computer types, and apps.

·1 year ago@lotzofuniquegoodies, wasn't it the case not that long ago (or at least it seems that way) that the approximate converted price was what showed up in large font and the price in the listing currency was in the smaller font?

·1 year agoVery likely it was something like that. Getting very difficult to keep track. As of late it seems to be a lot of tinkering just for the sake of tinkering. Like the recent where did the sellers name go/location, what the heck issue.

Screenshot from dot for your listed network tester. Appears to be working correctly from my view. Years and years ago I believe that ebay included the exchange rate or it was possible to check. That could be what is causing some customers confusion. If they are searching on dot com they should see both prices. Ca only Canadian.
Currency converter tool:
https://pages.ebay.in/services/buyandsell/currencyconverter.html
It will never be an exact match due to eBay's "floating" conversion rate.

OP1 year agoI'm thinking they're on the .ca site and don't realize it. The screenshot you're showing me is my expectation as well.
