NET sales shows a decrease but should it be the opposite?
Summary: chicweb is new to selling on eBay and noticed a discrepancy in their net sales report, which showed a decrease of 716.9% compared to the previous month, although they had actually moved from -C $5.98 to C $176.98, indicating an increase. chicweb suggested it might be a bug and was unsure about how the data is being calculated. reallynicestamps advised on contacting eBay support by tagging a representative, specifically on the Canada Board. chicweb later confirmed that the issue was resolved and the percent change appeared correct.
Hello everyone.
I'm kind of new a this selling stuff on ebay. So I want to start doing it more seriously and profesionnally.
I have a question. Is this a bug or something?
When I look at my Net sales for this month, it shows C $176.98 and it tells me 716.9% Down vs. prior time period...
But latest period, I was actually in the minus (because, learning, you know): -C $5.98.
How can 176.98$ be down from -5$? It should be up. See attached images.
Is that a bug?

The Canada Board is usually covered by @devon@ebay, who is allowed to go home on weekends.

OP2 years agoThank you. It seem fixed now. I see a correct percent comparing this month to last. 🙂

OP2 years agoMy guess would be that the calculation of this % vs prior is using the -5$ and causing a problem. So, the developers at ebay might want to have a look at this... 😉
Unless, I don't understand what this data means... but it should be pretty straightforward, specifically comparing this month to last month.
