No July Shipping Supplies Coupon Here Yet (July 18, 2024) Have you got yours?
Not in My eBay, email and not showing up if I plant something in my cart.
Are the July coupons out yet?
Thank you

·1 year agoI have lots of the small poly mailers I use most, so this time I ordered the largest boxes I could using my $35 "coupon".
I don't use them for shipping, but cut them up for stiffeners. Good value for $10 tax and shipping.

An FYI to one and all. The Oct shipping supply coupon has arrived. Showed up on My eBay page of sellers hub. For some reason though, still not seeing an email either in eBay messages or my gmail account referencing the coupon. This used to happen.

·1 year agoThanks for the heads up! My guess is they want people to forget and not use it, thus saving ebay money lol!
In the past I would get the ebay message about it, however it would NOT turn my notification bell red to inform me I had a message. Next step no message I guess lol

Personally didn't receive a coupon message last quarter after things got resolved. Just seeing a message now for this quarters coupon. (Oct 7). Unsure that was indirectly caused by our requests/personal observations. Maybe eBay was able to find more stamps or just usual tape delay(batching/indexing). Difficult to know at any given time what is going on under the eBay hood. Now to go find out if the item I wanted to order is still available?!? 😕

I received the coupon.
Sadly, I ordered my supplies from another source two days before the coupon arrived.
On the upside, I ordered shipping boxes from Ebay I don't normally see.
doumrous418
·2 years agoi only use it for the ebay branded packaging tape because on the canadian ebay supplies store the tape cost 45.99$ for 12 and after 30$ discount it's cheaper than buy clear one at dollorama and it's a very good quality tape helps me to cover ugly boxes and old address when i recycle old enveloppe my customers likes to receive boxes with ebay branded tape.
brettjet38
·2 years agoI have not used one of those coupons in at least a year, it was overpriced. I can get better quality and larger qty for the same price or less at the local discount stores.
And since like many I downgraded my store when all the free listings started so I have a whole pile of eBay packaging sitting in the basement which I hope to use up before eBay fully kills their own platform...

·2 years agoYeah, no shipping coupon here either.
It's been harder over the past year or so to get shipping supplies sent up to Canada (or purchased online).
Each supplier I've gone through either stops selling what I need to/in Canada or they stop selling altogether.
Ebay was a nice net..while it lasted.
reallynicestamps
·2 years agoI really don't care what the value of the coupon pretends to be.
I usually buy 100 of the smallest poly envelopes with no bubble wrap for my shipments. And the empty box goes into my store of Useful Boxes for Putting Things In.
The advertised cost of the item minus the value of the coupon takes my price down to only the sales tax which is quite reasonable.
It's the bottom line that matters.
ilikehockeyjerseys
·2 years agoI would rather they just take a few dollars off the monthly subscription. With how overpriced the shipping supplies are compared to even consumer options like Staples, Dollarama, and Costco, the $70 coupon is really more like a $10-$20 coupon. It's absurd.
hansatrade
·2 years agoIt depends. I always ordered bubble mailers, paying only the tax (8 dollars). For such a box of 100 bubble mailers I would need tp pay at least 60-70 dollars at Staples or Uline.
ilikehockeyjerseys
·2 years agoIf we're talking about size 0 mailers, there are a few different places where you can get a box of 250 for around $75-$100 shipped before taxes.
Assuming you are registered for GST, you can get 100 for free with the shipping supply coupon, or 200 for about $27 ($97-$70 coupon).
For me personally, I buy them at Costco for $75 for 250. That means 200 has a prorated cost of $60. So the eBay supply coupon is worth $33 to me if I use them for 200 bubble mailers because instead of paying $60 at Costco, I pay $27 ($97-$70 coupon).
It varies by item. For example, the 8x6x4 boxes are $85 for 50 of them. That means I could buy 50 of them with my supply coupon for about $15 dollars. 50 of them at Staples costs $28. So my coupon in that scenario is only worth $13.
The wider point is that the kind of marketing they engage in with the supply coupon is offputting. If they want to give me a $20 credit for shipping supplies, just do that.
They might be better off partnering with somewhere like Staples and doing it that way. Staples stores are almost everywhere, and they already have the infastructure along with a wider variety of supplies. eBay sellers would also buy more supplies directly if they were appropriately priced, rather than inflated.
Ultimately, the program never made any sense to me. Is the purpose to make selling on eBay more accessible through providing shipping supplies? If that's the case, it's a failure because they aren't accessible at their price. Is the purpose to market eBay successfully by ensuring there is some level of standardization with packages going out useing clean supplies and the eBay branding? That's a failure as well, because no rational person is going to pay three or four times the price on supplies.
If it is just meant as a way to make some additional revenue directly off of sellers with no intention of creating value for the sellers, that is short sighted.

·2 years ago@ilikehockeyjerseys
2 Major things need to be factored in when considering the Canadian coupon and its actual value. First a major portion is eaten up by the "free" shipping and secondly the lack of assortment when you compare the price breaks US sellers have access to. The Canadian version of the store. At any time there are at most 5 or 6 items out of 35 under 35.00. Either stickers or the cards. If you only buy 1 item you are out 10.00 of that coupon.
With the US store there may be only 32 (averages between 30 and 40 products at any given time) (11 items priced under 35.00 usd) items listed but they all have multiple price breaks that would be better suited for sellers. Sadly just how its always been when you compare the 2 choices.
ricarmic
·2 years agoPersonally my belief of a chunk of "why" they started this program was to get the ebay branding out there...... people will use "free"(ish) stuff and it puts the ebay logo in front of the shipping stream and buyer.
Generally when I see the pile of packages awaiting pickup in my PO it is very rare that I see an ebay branded item.....
lotzofuniquegoodies
·2 years ago@ricarmic
@ilikehockeyjerseys
I get a good portion of my boxes for free from the "other" site. I just remove labels, turn inside out and retape. Reduce, reuse, recycle!!! 🤑 Customers don't care what it says on the box. Only that they got what they wanted inside the box!!!

·2 years agoI contacted the chat on ebay 3 or 4 days ago. The lady said I would have it in 24-48 hours and no later then July 20th, AND it wasnt late? hahahaha
So for fun I contacted back today, low and behold I still dont have it. BUT they can see its being processed and I will have it by the end of July, RIGHT lol
They have no clue what they are doing or saying there. Not even sur ethey know Canada exists
Also why is Devon MIA and we have no one else on this board we can even ask to look into things, even though we usually never get any kind of resolution either way
intimewithmusic
OP2 years agoIf you feel "abandoned" you're not alone. I haven't shopped around yet. I have a lot of supplies on hand. I'm not sure without the coupon, I would buy logo supplies at their high regular prices without the benefit of the coupon.

Strangely or I guess expectedly if you go to the same version of sellers hub on dot com under the Store tab (also under marketing tab) there is a dropdown called SUBSCRIBER DISCOUNTS. Same dropdown is missing on ca. It leads you directly to any current available offers. Easy peasy!! If you test on dot com it is not available to Canadian subscribers.
https://www.ebay.com/sub/subscriberdiscounts
Seems to be a pattern of tools that when they are released/issued on dot com they rarely get the same attention on dot ca. Regarding it being a mail vs no mail thing. They may have heard about postage increases with canadapost and are trying to pinch pennies wherever possible when it comes to sending mail.😆
-Lotz
For smiles, chuckles and what the hecks for anyone that uses eBay ca exclusively a good idea to check out all the other MIA tools available to com sellers vs ca from time to time.
dinomitesales
·1 year agoIf they're trying to pinch pennies they could try a bit harder.
This was my most recent shipping supplies order. A box containing 25 of the 4" cube shipping boxes (the smallest ones on offer, so it's not a very big box). Whoever printed the label for it indicated the weight was 27 kilograms (actual weight is less than 2 kg, even when factoring in VE) and therefore they paid to ship this at a 27 kg rate.
I'm sure they get a volume discount from Canada Post, but still the cost difference between the actual size/weight of the box and one that weighs 27 kg is nearly 3x.

·1 year ago@dinomitesales
I passed on to Labels inc when the Expedited lite arrived on the scene that they could be used with eBay labels. (Looking closely at the label you provided they do appear to be shipped on their own account vs ebay labels). They would be under the 200 grams even in a cb mailer(could get away with smaller cb env) . They still arrive as standard expedited and as I recall 500 grams??? The majority of the coupon is lost to shipping from a Canadian perspective. And most likely as you noted the do qualify for a good discount with CP. They seem to have no plans to give sellers or any buyers value for the small selection of items they make available to Canadians. I too have observed inaccurate weights on shipments for as long as I've had a store. I guess they are too open to suggestions or the possibility of savings.
-Lotz
PS. As a side, I guess CP does not do any kind of audit for obviously incorrect weights on package when it is to their (CP's) favour?
dinomitesales
·1 year agoSorry, I don't follow what you're trying to say.
What does eBay Labels and Expedited Lite have to do with goods being shipped to me from the eBay Shipping Supplies store?
lotzofuniquegoodies
·1 year agoThe Canadian Supply store could ship eBay round stickers using Expedited Lite if they wanted to improve pricing for buyers. Betting there are additional items that could be shipped using CP's prepaid boxes. Default methods are NOT always the cheapest.
dinomitesales
·1 year agoOh, you didn't mention stickers anywhere, and the box of boxes I received is much too heavy to go Expedited Lite. I would imagine the stickers are probably the only thing that could possibly be shipped Expedited Lite if they wanted to.
Regardless, doesn't explain why they shipped my sub-2kg box of boxes at a 27 kg weight. I'm assuming someone at their shipping depot just screwed up, as the previous orders I've received have all been rated correctly. I don't know if eBay is going to refund them for the overage, but this mistake would be similar to us intentionally paying $60 shipping for something that should have cost $20 had we entered the weight/dimensions correctly.

·2 years agoI just talked to ebay and they said they discontinued it for Canadian sellers. One of my stores is registered under .com so I still get it there but if you are registered under .ca you no longer get the coupon!
lotzofuniquegoodies
·2 years agoThere is a new other conspiracy regarding the lack of coupons for this quarter....
A mass casualty incident at eBay HQ. Many hurt.
By the time they paid for all the get well cards and stuffed animals there were no funds left to cover coupons for Canadians. In my imagination entirely plausible!!!
If the coupons have been discontinued advanced warning would have been the responsible thing to do.

OP2 years agoApparently we all have to go back to chiselling the cheese out of the bottoms of our pizza boxes.
I wonder if this means eBay Canada Shipping supplies is going to have a huge Clearance Sale?
lotzofuniquegoodies
·2 years agoProbably...With the caveate shipping will no longer be free. It will be based using some kind of eIS formula or massive cubing charges!!! 🙃
I suggested to them awhile back Expedited lite could work for a few items. Would increase bang for the buck. It never happened.
intimewithmusic
OP2 years agoMy experience has been different as my stuff is mostly geared towards USA Tr Pkt. Expedited Lite really worked for me with some repackaging techniques. With creativity you can get 2 cassettes, 2 x 45s etc under 200 gr and lot them in pairs.
When I changed my listings to under 200 gram lots it also bumped up Tr Pkt USA sales. I'm in the process of changing my USA listings to under 250 gr lots and running a Promoted Listings trial. It's really helping sell old stock. Like most of us I'm slow in the summer period too but it's nice to move items that have been sitting around for a long time due to high domestic expedited charges for a couple of cassettes.

·2 years agohaven't got mine either and wonder if it has something to do with our stores getting more free listings..I was an anchor store and went down a notch when I saw that I would have 50,000 so that saves me over $200 a month...so I'm not really complaining but it would be nice if they would say something...and we can't even call reps anymore or at least not the last time I had an issue and tried to call.

Long story short support who issues the coupons to Canadians got a memo that the program had been abruptly ended for CA sellers. Not US. Support and CS are duking it out trying to get to bottom of things. We've been indirectly asked to stay tuned.
As for the car you won, it's in the mail...
