"not approved all for sale in Canada and cannot be listed on eBay"
Hi. I'm trying to sell a Samsung device (Galaxy S24). eBay keeps giving me the error message "This Samsung phone is not approved for sale in Canada and cannot be listed on eBay.fe208700-1254646x>". But clearly, it's allowed to be sold in Canada. Otherwise, how did I and presumably millions of people in Canada buy it? I can walk into any telecom carrier or a retailer like best buy or even the official samsung.com/ca website and buy one.
I know this is a necro thread at this point but I recently had the same problem described here but in May 2026. If you're like me, you might have found these old threads while trying to work out what the issue is.
The answer given on this post plus another elsewhere is, while possibly being technically correct in general, is misleading for the actual problem the OP was having.
When listing a Samsung phone in Canada, eBay will only let you sell it if it is a Canadian model. The eBay system checks for this by looking for the stated model number in your listing. In the case of a Samsung Z Flip 7, for example, this would be SM-F766W. To list successfully and avoid the "not approved" error message, youmustinclude the model number in the Specifics section (where you select options from various dropdown menus). It is also possible you may need to include it in your written description/title too but I can't confirm that with confidence. Put it there anyway, just to cover your bases. After I did this (on the advice of a genuinely helpful eBay support agent), I was able to list the phone successfully.
If the ID on which you are posting this thread is also same user name for "selling" on eBay; that initself is problematic= a seller with Zero eBay selling experience trying to list a high value item..perhaps you should have read this thread prior to posting a new thread on on same topic:

Because you haven't sold in awhile eBay is considering you new seller until you build up some completed transactions. If the phones are of higher value that would be the other reason. Policy attached. They will also hold payments. See links below.
I am having a similar problem selling a Galaxy A15. I bought it online from Best Buy Canada, unable to return it and apparently can't list it on eBay. I have recently sold other items so that part isn't a problem for me. Pretty sure the model of phone im selling also is not an international model.
