Problem with seller's initiated offers on multiple items
If I send offers to customers, for single item, it works well. They accept, pay, done.
If the customer want multiple items, it breaks. That system is not working well. It seem they now have to pay right away, even if I set up a delay of 4 days before payment, in my settings.
Is there something I'm doing wrong? Or, for multiple items offers, there's no way to make it work natively? Loosing a lot of sales because of this issue.

·2 months agoI experience the same issues. I've contacted eBay multiple times about it, but they don't seem to acknowledge the change in the offer system at all.

·6 months agoHello,
I posted in another thread about this last week. Looks like this is still an ongoing issue. Me and another user did tag Devin on this. No response to date.
My example was sending out 10 offers to the same customer and that customer needs to accept each offer and check out individually. 10 separate transactions with 10 separate shipping charges. No option to commit to buy or request an invoice. For me personally this just started happening about 2 weeks ago and I only list on .ca and my offers were still within 24 hours.
My long term customers made me aware of this and so for them I just get them to tell me the cards and the offer price and I'll do a custom lot new listing.
New customers might be turned off owing to this issue and not message at all. So now when I send out offers I put in the message sections that there are issues regarding combining best offers, please message me for workarounds. Haven't actually done it yet but thats my idea anyways.
All the best.

OP6 months agoYes, I'm sure it wasn't the case before... Customers could accept offers and not pay immediately and wait for an invoice. Now, it seem they have to, which complicate the process a lot.
It should be as painless as possible for customers or they will just buy elsewhere and leave ebay altogether if it's too complicated.
The combined process can be complicated enough, now offers are becoming tedious too.

·6 months agoIf you are listing on both dotCA and dotCOM those offers cannot be combined on one invoice.

·6 months agoThis has been going on, on the US site, for months... maybe even over a year or more.
I noticed when I was on the Canadian eBay people were able to accept offers and wait for an invoice. I think that's not the case, the last person who accepted three offers paid separately and messaged me for a shipping refund. What's annoying is the 40 cent eBay fee I have to pay on each order, so this is to eBay's benefit to do this and get more money, not of benefit to either the buyer or seller.

What I have found that works in situations where there are multiple units involved (of 1 item) is to add a note to my offer to buyers that if they are interested in more than 1 unit THEY need to generate the offer. Not me. That way THEY choose the quantity. Sending out random offers to buyers has worked this way (terribly) since forever. I will also advise them not to pay immediately so I can send out a revised invoice.
As we all know best offers to same person are super messy and even messier if eIS is involved. If eis is involved there is ZERO way to send a revised invoice. You have to (if you choose to) send them a refund if they overpaid for their portion of shipping to hub. As far as I know if shipping collected by eIS is NOT accurate eBay does not refund to buyer.

·6 months agoNo, this is not your fault.
The "send offer" system is a mess - especially if counter-offers are involved.
My solution, and I just had to do this yesterday, is to make a special listing that lots all of the items together and then give them the item number of the newly created listing.
This only works if they have not paid and have gone to the trouble of reaching out to you.
It sucks.
It's a pain in the butt.
It's been like that for as long as I can remember.
But considering that seller initiated offers make up 10% to 15% of my sales, I put up with the nonsense.
I wish I could give you a better response - maybe someone else has a better solution...
