Problem with viewing descriptions in listings
Summary: pjcdn2005 reported an issue with viewing descriptions on eBay listings, both on .ca and .com sites, encountering blank sections or unresponsive 'verify you are human' captchas. ricarmic and lotzofuniquegoodies confirmed similar experiences, attributing the issue primarily to .com listings. marnotom! mentioned no issues using Chrome on an iPhone. The problem seemed to have been resolved by the end of the discussion, as both pjcdn2005 and femmefan1946 verified that descriptions were visible again. devon@ebay assured that the technical team was prioritizing the issue.

I am hoping this will be fixed before the weekend. When I look at the description section on any listing .on ca the whole description section is blank. That is true on my own listings and on other sellers listings.
When I look at listings on .com, the description area shows me 'verify that you are human' captchas but verifying that does not allow me to view the description.
There are a number of reports on .com about this. Are people here seeing the same thing?
I am on an iPad but not using the app. Apparently for at least some people, everything is normal on the mobile app.

·3 years agoI looked at the Coach phone wallet, which apparently was listed on dotCOM and the Robin quarter which was listed on dotCA (based on the asking prices).
Both appeared for me, so it looks like the glitch has been corrected.
Whew!
On the other hand, since Buyers Don't Read™, maybe it's not all that big a deal.
*ducks*

Hi @pjcdn2005! This is a high priority ticket that is open to be resolved asap. If sellers are running into this they can go to the tech board and reach out to customer support to have their account added as an example for the Tech team.

·3 years agoI experience the same thing on laptop/chrome.
.COM =Verify Human, which it does, nothing happens after that.
.CA = sad face page icon

Fortunately or unfortunately it seems to only be affecting listings created on dot com. I only have 9 current listings on dot com. As an FWIW here are the current known issues as of June 2, 2023

OP3 years agoPerhaps it is was only affecting .com listings for you but I did not see a description on .com or on .ca listings. It seems to be fixed now though. I can see the descriptions onFirefox on my PC and on Safari on my ipad.
