"Listed an item and within minutes I got this message asking if the item was still available followed by them saying that they have paid and eBay told them to send me a QR code.
Absolutely do not scan a QR code inside of the messaging system inside of eBay. There is absolutely no reason ever why someone would buy the item and nothing would process on your account and this becomes the case. If someone pays for your item and it doesn’t process then take it up with eBay support before you ever scan a random QR code.
I think I saw a post about this once where someone said they’ve paid clicked on the QR code and it asks you to enter your payment information. Please do not be this dumb."
