Seems to be one of the quirks with the new version of this forum is we are seeing an influx of posts where sellers (usually newer) are trying to advertise...meaning sell. Hope when the post gets toasted/shot down/cancelled/poofed the OP gets advised as to the why. Otherwise they will have no idea that they had done something eBay improper.

As a side request can we get the default for dating being the ON position vs having to click on each one to turn on the date and then the flag will disappear the second as soon as you move on. Not sure about others but I view by newest posts and the old sort worked great!!!

It will help the naive and annoy the scammers.
Then after posting a response, Report the question.

Let tagging be a habit seeing as this version of the forum definitely is not getting the same level of traffic compared to the previous version.

Hi Lotz, Maybe this is legit but brand new member, zero feedback, no listings. Do you think this is a new twist? Not exactly a marketting id for a seller but I suppose they could have two accounts.

I've reported a half dozen of them. eBay seems to pull the posts quickly.
That said with respect to your title, "Sellers trying to list/advertise via this forum",
it was brought to my attention these posts can be phishing attempts to draw & scam members. They are likely not actually people selling items. eBay has been issuing warnings but I don't think any warnings have been specifically directed to this forum.

OP3 weeks agoYou are very likely correct @intimewithmusic .When I have spotted them and checked they "appear" to be all new supposed sellers with 0 in the listing column.

OP3 weeks agoI'm convinced it is sellers that aren't fluent in eBay forum. At least with the old system the message was still there in spirit (in most cases)...just locked unless it was something offensive.
