hello, a package was lost, buyer opened a case and I refunded the buyer. Well the package finally turned up. According to EBay, I cannot appeal the refund, so how do I get the money for my sale.

·1 month agoWhat is the timeline here? Did the item have tracking?
I had a similar situation occur earlier this year and eBay reimbursed me for the amount I refunded, since the tracking showed "Delivered" within 30 days of the refund.
It's possible they changed their policies since then.

·1 month agoYou guaranteed that the shipment would arrive in time.
The buyer paid for that service.
You subcontracted delivery to Canada Post/UPS/ DiceyDavesDelivery.
The subcontractor did not deliver on time.
You are responsible to the buyer for the late delivery.
The subcontractor is responsible to you.
Technically.
But.
Most shippers write their contracts to make it difficult to get a refund -- and at the most they will only refund the cost of shipping.
But.
Some buyers are reasonable and will repay you (perhaps less the shipping cost). One occasionally successful way to do this is to ask the buyer their email and send them a Paypal invoice. Fingers crossed.
At best.
The loss on refunds are a business expense and tax deductible.

·1 month agoyes, as per the replies below. You are at the mercy of the buyer.
If he/she isn't a real piece of trash, you can engage with them and they can purchase a ficticious item from you just to get the money back to you.
If they are trash, not a thing you can do. It's part of doing business on this site, because as I have mentioned before on this forum.... as far as ebay is concerned you are nothing but a method for them to make money. Once you understand that and can live with the occasional loss, you are good.

·1 month agoThere's nothing you can do if the buyer doesn't willingly pay for it again. However, depending on how you shipped it you may be able to get the shipping cost refunded by the courier if the item was late (you can with Canada Post).

·1 month agoOne mechanism is to engage the buyer, assuming they'll talk to you, create a special only for them eBay lot which they purchase and pay for, you mark it immediately shipped and ebayland, you and the buyer are happy.
If the buyer doesn't respond, then you're toast.....
