Yes, the bad news is that what you're describing has all the ingredients of a scam. You are likely protected under the Money Back Guarantee as long as the "seller" listed the camera in a category that it covers.
I don't think it's likely that the seller deleted the listing after you purchased the camera. eBay usually keeps these things on record after the sale is made as a "completed listing" with a note that the seller ended the listing, so I think it's more likely that an AI bot found the listing and removed it (and possibly the seller) but unfortunately, after you'd made your purchase.
You've kept all your messages and emails related to the purchase like a good buyer, right? Just to make sure the listing has been removed, check out its URL. The simplest way to do this is to enter this into your browser:
ebay.ca/itm/[listing number goes here]
If the listing has been removed by eBay, you'll get an "Oops! We looked everywhere and can't find that" type error message. Also check to see if the seller is still active on eBay. The seller's ID should be somewhere on those messages or emails for you to click on. If you get some sort of error message from eBay with that, then the seller has been removed from eBay as well. (By the way, I doubt the "seller" is from Massachusetts.)
You might be able to get the ball rolling for a refund through the Money Back Guarantee for a "not received" item even before the item's estimated delivery window if this is the case. YOU saw the red flags, YOU saw the risk,YOU went ahead and YOU took that risk and this is YOUR problem, so do not expect anyone to come to your rescue! The camera may arrive or the camera may not arrive...it all hangs in the balance...no one can know for sure....and yes, good luck in whatever happens>you may need it!
(and BTW, the description does not sound like/feel like/seem like it is original words from the seller)
