shipping a gold coin to US?
Hi, I am looking at listing a gold coin (worth less than $400 Canadian) and offering shipping to US and Canada. I believe bullion is exempt from tarrifs or duty when being imported into US. How should I ship it to US? It looks like canada post doesn't ship bullion and I am checking if chitchats does.

It is a coin or a medallion or jewelry.

·1 year agoChit Chats does ship coins, but whether or not the gold makes a difference or not I don't know. It might be OK if the value is under $800 (that's the main problem with gold is the value is over the $800 limit).
They might refuse it because they don't believe the valuation of the item. You're also risking it getting stolen. Gold coins have a different HTS code than other metals, so it would be identified as gold on the package.
I would keep that coin in Canada. Is it a Maple leaf? If so, Canadians are more likely to want to buy it anyway.
