I recently sold a brand new sealed FensSens wireless parking sensor. This product is a backup camera for your vehicle that connects wireless to your phone. The phone is the cameras screen.
The customer received this Feb 23.
The customer removed the seal and opened the item.
Unfortunately Apple and Google have removed the FensSens app from their store
February 2nd.
The customer cannot download the app that is needed for this item and want to return it.
What should I do?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

If you refund them in full without a return being opened, there's a chance you'll be hit for an out of stock defect, which is bad for your account and may result in you not getting the fees back.

·7 months agoWas this a domestic sale or did you ship the item to the US through eBay International Shipping?
Does anything look unusual about the shipping address?
Also, when was the item delivered?

OP7 months agoNothing seems fishy about any of it to be honest. The item simply doesn't work even though it was brand new and sealed . The company has lately removed the app from phone playstores making it completely useless.
The customer purchased the item as a guest and has recently made an official account. They can't find a way to request a return ( which I would gladly do). I have shared links from the internet about how to find guest account orders. They say this results in an error and doesn't work.
I can refund them myself but iv read that's not proper business in Ebay?
I want to help them but I can't seem to figure out how

·7 months agoOn the other hand, as the item is now basically e-waste, you might not want it back anyway.

·7 months agoRemind them they may be able to download the apk. and install it on their phone. If that doesent work then accept the return.

·7 months agoRefund ONLY when they return the item! In your hands then they get the refund.

·7 months agoAccept it. Any loss is better than tarnishing your reputation as a seller.

OP7 months agoBut they want me to do this without them opening an official Ebay Return request for some reason.

·7 months agoNo, have them open a return request. Once they have, you can choose to refund them and let them keep the item or send them a label. eBay should refund you the fees if you do it via a return request.

·6 months agoSome buyers cannot open Claims because eBay no longer allows them to do so, if they have in the past made "too many" claims.
Which might also go with ordering as a Guest.
I am old and cranky.
