Sigh, how does one see where a buyer used a coupon or offer etc
Summary: ricarmic inquired about how to view when a buyer has used a coupon or offer in transactions. lotzofuniquegoodies and flipistics participated in the discussion, but the details of their responses are not provided.
I had a buyer purchase an item and got a discount but I don't understand where or how.
The item was originally $120.
I MAY have marked it down to $110 (if I do a sell similar that's the number it has so I presume I marked it down)
It sold for $100
I don't mind because it was a 5 year plus running item, to a long time repeat buyer, but I don't understand how the other $10 discount happened.
It is very likely that I sent out offers or something?
What I'm really looking for is how to identify how the actual paid price was arrived at, ie if a coupon was used or an offer accepted etc.
80% chance "age" (of me) is a factor here but there should be some way to see what was used for the discount by the buyer....

·4 months agoGo to https://www.ebay.ca/bo/seller/showOffers/ and add the item number after that. You can review the offer that was accepted.

·4 months ago@flipistics Was there anything additional text noted after Offers/ for the web address? Systems responds with an error message as follows:

Sometimes this 'Manage Offers' link is at the top of a listing and some don't have it even when it accepts offers. I haven't figured out why some are missing it? I do this sometimes to see if a listing without the link has had any automatic rejected offers.

·4 months agoMy quick read error. I was hoping that link would relay a list of all items that had a coupon applied. (If there were any.) Accepted/rejected offer history just isn't what it used to be especially when multiple transactions are involved with the same item.

OP4 months ago@flipistics Awesome yes worked perfectly and it showed me that the $100 offer was put out 3 times twice to hidden IDs on April 20th and then to the person that purchased it yesterday.
This reminded me that I've seen a list of "automated offers" of mine. I think if someone looks at the item and doesn't buy it then, they get an automagic offer notification afterward.
So here's what I believe happened.
-at some point I decided to update the item and reduced the price by $10
-at some other point I decided to experiment with automated offers and selected another $10 off
The other automated offers in my list are all numbers that would have been picked by me, and I do infact have a faint memory of giving automated offers a try sometime in the past (remember I've already forgotten what I had for breakfast today!)
I will keep this handy, as a side note, you actually advised me to look for used coupons in a separate thread (about the may ebay shared coupon) but I wasn't able to find anything, I figured that meant nobody used a coupon but perhaps I didn't look in the right place, is there a similar way to find a coupon use like that you sent for the offers?

·4 months agoYou can try going to the seller portal (https://sellerportal.ebay.com) . For whatever it's worth, I can't seem to access it right now either though.

Are either the buyers packslip, order details or payment breakdown giving you any kind of explanation? Those would be the places to check first. Over the last 10 years or so how eBay chooses to show their math has been, how shall we say? Interesting? My personal word choice would be aggravating!!
Compliments of AI:
You can find a breakdown of when a coupon was applied on eBay by checking the Order Details page for that specific purchase.
For Active codes as an FYI:
From Seller Hub, go to Marketing, and then select Discounts. This will pull up all coupons and all sales. You'll see two columns for Quantity Sold and Orders. That info. will let you know whether anybody has used the coupon.
Your results may vary to the above. When I checked mine for ended last 365 days it shows zero. I know I recently saw a coupon option recently for one of current listings. As far as I know I've never been billed for a coupon but they have been applied and paid fully by an eBay promotion of some sort. For the Sales Event tab it shows one in July 2025 but no itemized details.
