Starting Aug 25 to offer DDP payment on my Shopify payment portal to Ebay buyers to pay tariffs

I have setup a shopify page for check-out for Tariff payment I am starting collecting from Ebay buyers for purchases they do.
Ebay has not been moving on this, so I am going to test this. I have done so far for a few sales that have gone DDP by creating a dummy listing on EBay but that is risky as the buyer may want to return the item or file a dispute and I would lose that money.
So this is the way to go for now. Other alternative is to use Paypal personal payment but I don't like that idea either.
I can't include tariffs cost into shipping cost either because if reducing price of the item, I would need change shipping cost all the time plus some categories limit the amount I can charge for shipping.
What other options do I have.
This weekend I had 10 orders. 1 is Canada, 9 is US.
Canada Post DDP is going to be more expensive than Stallion USPS DDP, so I am going to continue with Stallion for now.

OP11 months agoAnother option is to run Ebay.COM and Ebay.CA in parallel.
Setup Ebay.COM to only fulfil US based orders.
Setup Ebay.CA to only handle orders from Canada and Internationally (there appeared to be a glitch with items not shiping to international (non-US) buyers .. https://community.ebay.ca/t5/Seller-Central/Big-problem-when-blocking-the-United-States/m-p/526631#M165907)
Then use CSV to upload to ebay.COM and ebay.CA separately or use crosslisting service.
For ebay.COM use a factor to add an approximate amount for tariffs (could vary quite and change).
I don't know which way would lose more business:
1. Explaining US buyer after purchase they have to make additional payment outside of ebay
2. Seeing the inflated price (and likely sending me emails offering lower price than the one showing).
Should test both.
Is ebay going to provide a solution anytime soon? YES / NO? 30 days, 90 days?? Tariffs change, but some tariffs will remain in place until Trump stays in the office and almost sure also beyond Trump's term. So Ebay should have some plan on how to deal with this.
At least give sellers some kind of time window.

·11 months agoWell, they said the Canadian eIS is supposed to start in October, so I would imagine that's the rough timeframe we'd be looking at. Somewhere between 30 and 60 days depending on when it launches in October.

So I assume this isn't going against Ebay policies. This was discussed this on the forum a few times, no official answer from Ebay. I don't want Ebay to shut me down later for doing something against Ebay rules but since Ebay doesn't provide mechanism to complete a sale, then it shouldn't prevent me from complete it myself. Thanks.
