Suggested fix for ebay's "discounted" Canada Post USA shipping
Summary: ypdc_dennis suggests that while eBay shipping's Canada Post USA shipping labels are disabled, eBay should set the 'discounted' rates for USA shipping to match Canada Post's normal rates. This change would help sellers who ship to the USA and internationally maintain accurate calculated shipping costs when using the 'show discounted rates' feature. Currently, ypdc_dennis had to pay extra for shipping a book to the USA due to the disabled discounted rate, highlighting the inconvenience and suggesting a straightforward temporary solution until eBay reinstates the USA labels.
While eBay shipping has the Canada Post USA shipping labels disabled:
Set the "ebay" discounted rate for USA to be the same as Canada Post's normal rates for the USA.
This would allow calculated shipping to work properly for Sellers who ship to the USA and Internationally when the Seller has "show discounted rates" turned on. The listing would show the regular rate for the USA and the discounted international eBay label rate.
An example: I just sold a book to the USA. The Buyer paid the eBay label discounted rate (which is currently not available) for shipping. So I paid an extra $4 to ship directly with Canada Post. I do want to display the discounted eBay rates for Canada and International, so resetting the USA eBay rates to normal rates would be a simple fix (until/if eBay starts offering the USA labels again).
