Thinking of selling a Roblox code on Ebay.
I would deliver the code via ebay messages system and include a photo of the code. The code is on a scratcher included in a toy. There would be no delivery costs ie shipping or other expenses other than ebay fees. My understanding is that doing this is in a high scam category. Any tips on protecting myself would be appreciated.

OP1 month agoi can my using ebay's message system and including a picture of the actual code. What u can't prove is the code is valid....this is what makes it easy for scammers. Will i get in trouble with ebay for listing the code or is it just discouraged? And what can Roblox do to me? I am selling a code that came with a toy item i purchased. I can now do whatever i want with the contents as it is my property.

·1 month agoDoing a bit more digging, it appears that selling a code that came with a toy might be okay with Roblox provided you don't try to sell it through the Roblox app itself. I can't see you getting "in trouble with eBay for listing the code" as long as you do it according to eBay policy on digital delivery items. However, checking a few listings for eBay codes, it looks as though sellers following this policy are far and few between. I'm not sure if this is because these sellers haven't looked into the policy or if it's because they're trying to find ways around it.
As far as the scam issue goes, this is something sellers of physical items run up against as well. As you suggest, though, the odds of this happening with a game code are likely much higher than with most physical items.

·1 month agoTips on protecting yourself? Don’t sell it on eBay. Not only is this a high scam category, but my understanding is that reselling codes is against Roblox’ terms of service.
