Time for The Return of Discounted Canada Post to US Labels
Summary: thefruga-84 expresses a desire for eBay to integrate a system that allows for the purchase of discounted shipping labels with the addition of a Zonos key, which would help make their shipping pricing strategy more competitive. Currently, they are manually adjusting shipping rates by about 40% for 1600 listings and are dealing with the consequences of previously changing shipping policies on low-value listings. They find Zonos potentially useful, especially given the difficulty of finding manufacturers for certain items, but they are concerned about the high inflated retail rates of Canada Post, which complicates the setting of appropriate shipping and tariff rates.
As of right now with 1600 listings to go through I’m basically picking a range of items within a certain dollar value and raising the shipping by about 40% of the median. I messed up and changed 900 low value listings shipping policies across the board, so that’s my next day and a bit fixing that.
Im sure for some items I’ll be able to find a manufacturer and use chit chats, but for a lot of items where that information in incredibly hard to come by Zonos looks like it will come in handy. Problem with Zonos right now is how heavily inflated the retail rates for Canada Post are. Shipping something that’s a Kilogram and I’m not used to spending $25 on that label and it’s making it **bleep** near impossible to set proper rates that ensure both the shipping and tariffs are mostly covered.
No real questions here just think it’s time for some level of integration for sellers to try and retain some sales Stateside.
