Unable to select damaged item in drop down menu in order to refund buyer

Just had a buyer contact me about an item damaged in shipping. This was resolved by requesting the buyer to open a return for damaged item.  It was then possible to refund.Thank You to those who private messaged advice, it was much appreciated.
