Just sold something and have an issue I have never had in my entire and long ebay years,
I only ship Canada post, I have never ever offered UPS. Now someone bought a lot from me, message said they pick canada post regular package to BC, BUT when I go printing label from ebay it an UPS one..... and other options are the other more expensive canada post options.
I suppose I will have to get my label directly from Canada post, not ebay.
I have no idea how this is even a thing, never ever had UPS as an option!! No UPS at all near me either.
Anyone has any idea what is going on
thanks

OP3 months agoThank you all, used expetited instead. I do not recall last time anyone picked regular so I was a little lost. Never had one single sale with regular in over 2 years.
they should remove that from the shipping choices.
So my buyer got an upgrade in shipping, there was a slight difference from my pocket, really not much and it was a big sale so.
Again, thank you!!

What some sellers do is offer regular and then do the auto upgrade to expedited. This tends to make customers happy when something arrives earlier that eBay "suggests". eBay delivery windows are best case scenarios. Just a variation of adding additional handling time and then sending the same day. Built in protection.

·3 months agoAs others have said buy Canada Post Expedited parcel as a substitute for Regular.
Base price is the same for both, but Expedited uses a different calculation (divide by 5000 vs divide by 6000) for volumetric which can push the package into a higher weight category. But usually the Expedited cost through eBay labels will be less than Regular parcel cost direct from Canada Post.
Expedited is same mail class as Regular, but has the included free bonus of $100 insurance and gets higher priority when sorted -- based on my observations, this has no real effect on local area delivery times, but can be a couple of days faster getting across Canada.

Have you checked to see if Expedited is available below under additional services? It should be included at same price as what your customer paid.. Regular parcel is offered by CP at a sales outlet to users who do not have a Solution for Small Business account. Except without the discount. Expedited gets higher priority when it comes to delivery times.
Unsure what your buyer saw when they got their invoice but Expedited "should have" been visible to buyer. They just may not have spotted.

·3 months agoI am still getting Canadian buyers selecting Regular parcel service. I automatically upgrade to expedited just for the faster delivery window.

·3 months agoI automatically upgrade to expedited...
When you do, it's useful to let the buyer know about the "Upgrade" and that it is "at no additional charge".
And remember there is also the option of Expedited Lite, for letter size items that require tracking.

That was IF the buyer paid for regular those dozen times or so times it has happened. Never had an issue. As a side there is no way within eBay to charge extra. Only if you were to cancel and re-bill at buyers request.
There only would be an issue if you downgraded or shipped a different way. Something I would never do.

Seems likely. I assume you have a Solutions for Small Business discount account?

ou can’t purchase Canada Post “Regular Parcel” labels through eBay Labels, the closest is “Expedited Parcel”.
Of course we can, unless this has changed in the past three days.
However, Expedited is the same price as Regular Parcel but is faster while Expedited Lite is cheaper.

·3 months agoRegular Parcel labels were removed from ebay labels in early 2024.

·3 months agoThey should have removed them the day that Expedited became available. "regular" parcel is pointless when Expedited is available.

·3 months agoEarlier today there was a message on the labels page that said Canada Post was having some issues. It might be related to that.

Because the buyer selected a service that isn’t available through eBay Labels, UPS is likely showing first as the lowest-cost option instead.
You can still purchase a Canada Post 'Regular Parcel' label through another label platform such as Shippo or netParcel (which may match the discounted rate the buyer paid).
To avoid this issue in the future, it’s best to replace “Regular Parcel” with “Expedited Parcel” as your Canada Post domestic shipping service on your listings instead.
