Using Fedex and UPS with eBay labels
Has anyone recently been assigning Fedex and UPS to their listings for shipping in Canada? Are the charges processing as they were created? Higher or lower or bang on? How has processing time been? I have noticed that for some shipments price quoted has been better than the CP option?
Disclaimer. Couriers can have more challenges like not being able to deliver to PO box or secure building.

·1 month agoeBay Labels have GREAT UPS rates within Canada. However, watch your dimensions. I was charged DOUBLE what I was originally quoted (and what the buyer paid) on eBay Labels for UPS. Turns out, 1 cm more is what I was actually charged, so the measurements I had in the listing indicated it was one certain rate that the buyer paid, but it ended up at the next rate and I am SOL on what eBay charged me for it.
FedEx has always been notorious for higher charges after the fact, so I won't use them at all.

·1 month agoI buy UPS labels from Click Ship (with free pickup!) and EasyShip so I don't know about when eBay charges for them. I really haven't had issues with overcharges from UPS. I don't use Fedex. I did have a bogus overcharge from Purolator recently though. I've found the vast majority of my orders have been cheaper with UPS than with Canada Post right now. I think it's due to most Canada Post items going out volumetric rather than actual weight. The additional fuel surcharge on the volumetric rate is crippling.

I'm mostly thinking of all the recent ongoing issues with eBay Labels and CP shipments in comparison. With the zippo we have been getting on follow up hard to know if things are fixed or never going to get fixed.
The only time I have needed to use CP directly has been when eBay lets a buyer pay for a CP service and the ebay label option was MIA.
Going forward it is looking like "many" Intl/USA sales will be knee capped so Canada will be the market to concentrate on and then for us, as sellers to try to provide the most economical shipping options we can.

OP1 month agoIn reviewing the recent Fedex announcement there are 3 things to take into consideration.

For line 1 is this happening?
For line 2 that would only apply to the few Canadian cities serviced overnight or next to each other. (Mtl/Ottawa - Yes. Toronto/Vancouver - no)eBay does not offer Fedex air within Canada.
For line 3 eBay only offers Intl economy. Not cheap. Customs is included as per a google search. (Every FedEx International Economy service includes basic customs clearance at no extra charge. You do not pay extra for FedEx to clear your package through borders.)
This is all made more interesting when you check seller settings on the 2 sites. eBay Canada offers the discounted label rates option for all 3...CP/UPS/Fedex. You can't choose. In checking the US sellers options they offer USPS/Fedex/UPS but DON't offer(include) the discounts for UPS/Fedex. Only USPS for Canada/Intl. (You can't make this testing up??)
