Hi folks,

Just a quick question....is anyone else experiencing really, really long billing times for postage charges thru Ebay? I have items that I shipped on Dec 1 that have still NOT been billed to my account. 6 in total from Dec...Some January as well. Find it crazy that I have to keep a ledger of what is still owing to know what I can take as payouts. (you know....from those hard to come by sales!)

Not only super delayed, but sometimes charged the wrong price. Super shameless!

My billing seems to take place 6 weeks after the fact.

eBay's resolution has been to suggest we keep money in eBay to cover it.

Our businesses shouldn't have to keep money of ours in accounts that aren't ours, especially if it's going to be over a month.

I dont know any business that would operate thos way.

Well, it took quite a while, but all my December EIS billings finally went thru my acct in MARCH! Perhaps growing pains at the EIS hub? who knows, but **bleep** 3 monts +!! I'm glad I started keeping track of paid charges back when EIS started and can keep a running tally of what my account will be hit for when they get around to it. Thanks everyone for your input on this. Small comfort that I wasn't the only one dealing with moldy charges! L

One of the drawbacks of these "belated" charges going through is that it makes it difficult to make a customer right if you have to wait to see the official charge. You don't want to refund (when you can) and then get a revised up charge 3 months later. Billing was consistent/current until suddenly it wasn't. eBay makes it very easy to refund a buyer. Not so easy to recharge like you could with PayPal.

FWIW I just got 2 charges for shipments sent 9 & 10 days ago. Both have been delivered. Debating if that is eBay's new trigger vs what it states when you create a label.

I was billed today (Feb 19) for one label purchased on Feb 9 that was delivered on Feb 12. Normal domestic shipment through Canada Post.

All of my eIS shipping labels are still outstanding, dating back to Dec 5.

I've had 1 eis billed. Another outstanding. This is making basic auditing of charges very challenging especially how they are displayed on MP transaction page. Will check tomorrow but pretty sure my label page has purged some transactions that have not been charged. Only holds em for 90 days and no way to generate date specific custom report.

Fortunately you are in Wpg. Is as you I believe recently stated letter mail is will be all going ground now your eIS letter mail "should" make it to hub......... as long as you keep fingers crossed, there are no forest fires or road closures and mail gods are with you!!!!

Think it would be acceptable to hold back paying ebay any funds due to them? We could just pay at OUR convenience. Hmmm, just throwing stuff at wall to see what sticks!!! 🙄 Could you test for us and let us know how it goes please?

Yes, you're not alone. I currently have 3 outstanding Canada Post shipping labels that haven't been billed to my account yet. One from Dec 5, one from Jan 5, and one from Jan 22.

All three of these were eIS orders, so the shipping labels were purchased through eBay going to the hub in Mississauga.

Just had a exp. lite charge come through for Jan 25. Original charge 7.78. eBay posted cost 7.81. Is it possible the difference is made of interest charges? 🙄 Would be nice if the line item charge included the date label was generated vs having to open up each 1 along with the reason for any modification to the charge. That is and always was standard business practice.

Most likely the difference is caused by fluctuating fuel surcharges but in practice charges should be based on day label was created...not charged. If you open up the charge you see the following:

yes, I see a lot of those 'extra' charge bits go through as well. $17.35 vs $15.77 on ebay charge at label time...usually about 25cents more, but sometime they are actually less. No rhyme or reason. And yes, it would be nice to see a more detailed breakdown.

In speaking to CP awhile back on the subject that if an item is audited (whatever reason) up or down, that change gets passed on to the account on file. In my years of mailing with CP both via ebay and on my own I have seen a neglible amount of shipments charged less. Vast majority were ALWAY higher. They have suggested speaking to eBay for explanations if that's where they were generated.

Are you getting many $17.35 vs $15.77 type charges? What are the parcel dimensions you entered for that label? When I see adjustments like that mentioned, I ask what the dimensions are because Canada Post generates labels with different dimensions on the label on smaller parcels where either/both LxW are under the minimum of 23x20cm. This can result in being charged more on small parcels when using ebay labels.

Just printed one off for expedited.

Measurements entered: 25 x 18 x 5 cm

Measurements on Label:25 x 20 x 5 cm

Shipment and cost detail Report: 18 x 25 x 5 cm

Not sure where eBay magically found the 2 extra cms and flip of measurements on report.? This has been going on and has caused increased charges since I started monitoring in Nov with issue found in Oct. shipments. Will see what happens when charges get billed. Might be time to start proofing bills a bit more closely for anyone who doesn't?

You can check with 'get another label' and enter the other dimensions, there shouldn't be a rate change for that size adjustment.

The change is happening after printing. eBay is porting false data into the system. If I were to key back in using same measurements same thing would happen so voiding and redoing is not an option.

As a side note since I have been monitoring this there has been no consistency to the new measurements that appear on the label. These modifications were not happening in Sept from my checking back to test.

A few of us have early December labels not charged still.

A bunch of December labels were charged around Jan 31, but a possible link with other December labels is that they are for EIS. Are your December labels for EIS or Expedited Lite?

Otherwise, my last charges came Jan 31, no labels since Jan 22nd have been charged for me yet.

Hiya, yes, nearly all of them are for EIS shipments. (Even the one that took from Dec 2 to Feb 4 to go to the U.S) ! I guess I will just get the surprise billings as they get their paperwork done. I do keep funds to cover, but sheesh...this is crazy.

eIS has it's own separate account number with CP. Hopefully it is being monitored consistently.?

Expedited lite is on master account with the other account number and default 5 x 5 x 5cm measurements.

@devon@ebay Just a heads up on this recurring aggravation for Canadian sellers.

This is the message sellers see as they go to print label.

Payment by seller account

Once the shipping label has been used, the amount due will be automatically deducted from your funds or charged to your on-file payment method in a few days.

Yes, same for me. My sales from January and February have shipping labels charges that haven't been processed.

I just set aside the $ to pay the CC, once they are finally charged.
