Weekly Ebay payout didn't show up yesterday like it should......anyone else?
Summary: Several eBay sellers reported that their weekly payouts from February 4th have not shown up in their bank accounts. While some participants, like ricarmic, noted their payout arrived as expected, others, including fergua3, are frustrated with the delay and lack of resolution from eBay or their banks, which are unable to trace the transactions. Some participants believe there could be a widespread issue on eBay's side, with one user suggesting possible fraud or technical glitches. Many sellers are skeptical about the communication and support from eBay, with some mentioning the idea of escalating the situation to regulatory authorities or media. fergua3 and others express significant frustration, indicating potential financial harm and threatening to suspend further eBay activity until the issue is resolved.
The weekly Ebay payout didn't show up in my bank account yesterday. It's been very reliable for months but yesterday no money was deposited. Anyone else have a payout payment not show up?

·1 year agoStuff like this happening is probably a really good reason for people to switch to daily payouts. It should at least lessen the impact if something does go wrong.
ericsells75
·1 year agoCan’t really argue with that. I just prefer weekly as it allows time for most of my shipping label charges to be actually charged from my funds so accounting is a little easier
sin-n-dex
·1 year agoI do weekly as well to not incur a bunch of bank fees for deposits. I have a small business bank account and pay a fee every time money is put in, so having it put in once a week seems to be the ideal situation to get my my money relatively quickly and keep the fees down. I also pay the brick and mortar store for my items on a weekly basis, so we have a schedule that eBay pays me on Tuesday and I bring them a cheque on Wednesday.

·1 year agoFor what it's worth I sent the following to any ebay email address I could come across:
I am reaching out to you directly because every other attempt to resolve this matter has utterly failed.
My scheduled eBay payout from February 4 has not been received. On February 7, the status changed to "In Progress," and it has remained stuck there ever since. This is completely unacceptable.
This is not just my issue—dozens of sellers, as reported on eBay’s own forums, are experiencing the same problem. Despite repeated inquiries, eBay's customer support has been entirely unhelpful, providing vague responses, empty assurances, and no real solutions.
Let me be clear: This is theft. eBay is withholding sellers’ funds with no explanation, no transparency, and no resolution in sight. Sellers rely on these payouts to sustain our businesses, and this ongoing delay is causing financial harm.
I demand immediate action. This issue must be addressed, payouts must be released, and sellers deserve a clear, public acknowledgment of what is happening. If this is not resolved promptly, I—along with many others—will have no choice but to escalate to regulatory authorities and public channels.
I expect your urgent response and a firm commitment to fixing this immediately.

·1 year agoI've just noticed that eBay has 'charged' (and convicted) me for a 'late delivery' for a sale I shipped via Lettermail the same day as the sale and that Canada Post took three weeks to deliver.
I can't help but detect a wee bit of irony here.
fergua3
OP1 year agoSo we have at least one person missing $1500 and another with over $10,000 CAD missing.
Now i think we are beginning to see why Ebay is so scared and so silent. The total is clearly very high and they can't or won't make it up out of their own pocket.
This story is definitely ready for prime time tv now.

·1 year agoI too am missing 8,586.23 US$ from feb 4th non-payout with no communication from ebay other than responding to my call and creating a service ticket.
Now because it is in US $ and I always convert it to Canadian funds using my Wise Account (because they have the best exchange rates) I have lost 7% of my value due to the weakened US$ over the last 2 weeks. that is equal to $858 Canadian at today's rate. Who is going to pay for that. That does not include interest on money i put in to subsidize the non payment. This is not acceptable,

·1 year agoJust noticed something strange about my missing Feb 4th payment. Under the payment info where it states in progress Feb 7th, it says "we have subtracted your payment from your available funds". That doesn't sound correct since eBay should be giving me the funds instead of subtracting them. Anyone else seeing this?
ericsells75
·1 year agomsmaggie060
·1 year agoAnyone else see that? Maybe that is why we never received our funds! Obviously AI is bad at math and subtracted when he should have added. I wonder if we will ever get our money?
fergua3
OP1 year agoi'm pretty sure it always says that when a payout is in progress. The amount of the payout is subtracted from your available funds in your acount on Ebay. It is then supposed to be transferred to your bank account. In our case for the Feb 4 payout, it was subtracted but not transferred and is somewhere unknown.

·1 year agoI didn't get my payout on Feb 4th and show in progress too, but received another payout yesterday, so I guess there is something wrong on the ebay side makes all payouts on Feb 4th on hold?
fergua3
OP1 year agoit wasn't all, many people did get their Feb 4 payouts. But an ever growing number of us did not. CS is useless, telling the same lie over and over. Zero communication from Ebay and it looks like even devon@ebay has cut us loose.
Time to take this to social media? Maybe Ebay.ca is having cash problems afterall, so they can't afford to send us the money they owe us until they recover it from whatever hacker or employee stole it. Clearly it was stolen. It does not take this long to fix a glitch where the money is still in Ebay's hands.,
yax-9290
·1 year agoI see, but it's so strange, since they still issued the payout for Feb 11th tho.
fergua3
OP1 year agowell, something happened to the Feb 4 payout for a batch of Ebay sellers. Most got their payouts on the 4th, but a chunk of us, perhaps hundreds or more, did not. So something happened while the effected sellers payouts were being sent out electronically. It could have been a hacker redirecting the money, it could have been a technical glitch that made the money go poof or into wrong bank accounts, it could have been a nepharious Ebay employee stealing the money somehow. Or it could have been another cause. We'll probably never know. Whatever the cause was it seems to be rectified and everyone got subsequent payouts. But a bunch of us didn't get Feb 4th's payout and are still waiting for it.

With lack of an actual real response or an acknowledgement that it is high on their radar, it gives the impression that situations such as these are entirely acceptable. When they get fixed is when they get fixed. End of story. Yet fees, late undescribed postage charges, amended charges and those mystery charges we sometimes see, can come out whenever, but almost always with the highest priority.
roxx66
·1 year agoObviously we are getting lied to. Is there another recourse for us? Like a Canadian Ombudsman to look into it? This is disgusting! On top of being charged FVF on the tax my buyer pays, then getting charged tax on top of that, this is pushing me over the edge on whether I will continue to sell on eBay. Devon@ebay.ca ??

OP1 year agoThere seems to be a growing number of us. I wonder just how many there are that Ebay has not sent a payout to. Maybe they're having cash flow problems and can't cover all the payouts.
No action since Friday....usually when a payment is 'in progress' it takes a few minutes before the money is sent, not several days, so i have to wonder if anything is reallly being done at all.

·1 year agoOn September 30/24 eBay had cash and short term investments (close to cash) of 5 BILLION US Dollars, they do not have a cash flow problem.
FYI - I received my payout from the 4th as I always have.
Obviously there is an issue with some payouts on that date, no need to make stuff up.
fergua3
OP1 year agosigh.....i didn't make stuff up, i was hyhpothosizing. Stop accusing me of making stuff up, you've done it before.......do not do it again.
i, like others, am very frustrated with Ebay. If this was a one time thing it wouldn't be that big of a deal but it is just the latest in an ongoing litany of screw ups by Ebay. They make little effort to correct their mistakes in a timely fashion or communicate, and nobody at CS even seems to have a clue what we're talking about or they just try to get us off the phone.
It's just another example of the 2nd class citizen treatment of sellers by Ebay.

·1 year agoI do daily payouts, but I have still not received my payout from Feb 4. I did however receive by payout of Feb 5 on time. Wealthsimple says they have no evidence of a transaction from Feb 4, eBay says wait another 48 hours. Very annoyed.

·1 year agoJust to put your mind at ease, I had a payout delayed by 5 days because TD was upgrading their processing system. This was at the start of the year. TD and eBay could not help in any way, but the problem was on the bank’s end. It should land in your account soon, so just hang in there. I recall it being very stressful at the time, and with all the other issues right now, I am sure you are pulling your hair out.
Hang in there. By next week we will be telling war stories about how difficult it was but we all survived with battle scars. Don’t give up, it will get better.

·1 year agoI got the eBay notice, and don't usually worry about the transfer acceptance.
I've seen the acceptance blamed on the receiving bank in the past.
fergua3
OP1 year agoSo my payment still didn't show. This is unprecidented in all the years i've been using MP, so i called my bank with the transaction ID number Ebay gave me. My bank said they cannot help in any way, as they cannot track incoming payments and that the ID number is meaningless to them.
So, if this money does not show up i gather i am out the money. My bank told me to tell Ebay to resend the payout but Ebay just has to say, we sent it, the ID number is proof we sent it and that is that. So, i will suspend all Ebay activity until this payment shows in my account. Making sales you don't get paid for is worse than making no sales at all......not only am i out the item and the money for the item, i am out the shipping cost i forked out as well.

OP1 year agowhat's more upsetting, is that there doesn't seem to be a darn thing i can do about it if it never shows up. My bank says 'we can't do anything' and Ebay says 'we sent it, talk to your bank'. How do i know Ebay even sent it? How do i know that somehow my bank just didn't have a gltich and the money went poof?

·1 year agoMy regular Tuesday payout landed in my Simplii/CIBC account on Tuesday as usual. It's only been late once since 2020.
I do hear of delays from time to time so I wouldn't panic just yet.
In any case eBay is not going to rip you off, if there was a glitch of some sort they will take care of it, while your bank can't help you eBay can track the transaction from their end and see if it was rejected in the ACH system or sent to the wrong bank account or ???
Suspending you eBay activity is a gross over reaction.
fergua3
OP1 year agoI suppose....but it's now Thrusday morning and still no money.... what if going forward there is no way to deposit money in my bank account? Will Ebay mail be a cheque? Will they deposit it in my Paypal account instead? There is no point in selling and shipping items if i can't get the money, it's just costing me money in shipping fees.
With the postal strike, the tariff threat, the HS/CoO code problem and now this payout not showing up, it's all becoming too much trouble to sell on Ebay and i'm pretty fed up. Ebay hasn't even fixed the sign n problem on this forum yet....it's been 3 weeks. When i get signed out of here i also get signed out of my ebay.ca account. I am constantly having to sign in, every thing i do.
The most concerning thing, as i said, is that my bank can't/won't help. Why would Ebay give me a huge bank transfer ID number for my bank to trace, if my bank can't trace it?
recped
·1 year agoCall eBay again and tell them your bank checked the number and found no record of receiving the transfer.
