Where are you wiling to ship your wares?
Summary: sapphyres-designer-jewellery initiated a discussion by asking where others are willing to ship their wares. mrdutch1001, clemowbooks, and hansatrade participated with responses, but the exact details of their replies are not available in the provided content.
I'm thinking of expanding my area where I ship, since Stallion offers tracked shipping to most places. I want to avoid anywhere that will be a problem (or that I've had problems with their post, customs or buyers in the past).
Anywhere in Africa safe to ship?
South America is likely a no go... Uruguay is probably the safest country to ship to, but the police in Montevideo warned my spouse about having an 8mm recording camera around his neck that someone might try to steal it (in 2009). Some people say Chile, the post office there stole all my packages when I was there, even the postcards.
Oceania/Australia - I do Australia and New Zealand. I don't think adding many places will pick up many customers.
Europe - Easier to say where I don't want to ship (aside from some places I don't know about), I don't ship to Romania, Russia or Italy. I'm wondering if Spain and Bulgaria are OK. I don't ship to Greece because there's strict rules on mailing coins (at least there used to be).
Asia - South East Asia seems to be somewhat OK... Taiwan, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, Singapore... anywhere else that might be OK? I'm talking for tracked things.
I had problems with stuff going to India not showing tracking all the way and INRs being won (even though tracking was promised with the postage I purchased, they didn't do that). Some of the neighbouring countries to India have postal workers and customs who steal things that contain goods.
I'm fine with shipping to the Middle East (not Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, Yemen or Syria), but eBay has that blocked right now. I enabled shipping to the UAE and a UAE buyer couldn't get it, he used a US freight forwarder address.
Please share where you do or don't ship, based on the feedback I'm going to update my business policies for items that go with tracking. For anything that doesn't normally go with tracking I'm going to be far more restrictive in where I mail it.

·6 months agoI only Block four countries- Russia, Saudi Arabia, Israel, and India. Mostly because of shipments that were not received.
I have had problems getting paid from Eastern Europe, but I don't ship if I'm not paid, so I don't bother to Block those.

·6 months agoI would suggest that you check each country that you'd like to ship to, for what can or cannot be imported into that country...it's not a matter of where YOU want to ship to, it's a matter of whether or not what you are shipping is allowed to be imported into that country.
