Where to call in for customer service?
There used to be an option to give or get a call from customer service when I have a problem with buyers, but it's not available any more. Is there still customer service I can talk to, or that service is simply gone forever?

·3 weeks agoHi, I ran into as issue with Ebay seller, there was mistakes being made by the postal services and the item i paid for got sent back the the seller. The seller has not been responding to my messages. I ordered in April-2026, and when I now try to request "DID NOT RECIEVE ITEM" it says that the 30 day window is Closed now. I need to speak to a Human Representative about this. The CHAT/AI cannot help me with this issue. I can't seem to find a way to talk to a Human customer service representative. Can someone please help.

·3 weeks agoIf you're past the 30-day window for filing a case for a not-received item, a human customer service representative isn't going to be able to do anything for you. Your next step will be to file a claim through the payment method you used, if you used an easily reversable method of payment such as a credit card.

·3 weeks agoHi, I paid via Paypal. And in Paypal it is with Credit cards.
Ebay should allow more days to file complaint, because in my case the Seller first sent it via FedEx but a local USA FedEx shipping when it was supposed to be International FedEx, then when it got to Canada it went via Canada-Post, and the delivery was to a FedEx pickup location. FedEx rejected it here in Canada because it came not thru their FedEx vehicles. Then Canada Post held, it at one of their locations. When I got to Canada Post, they made a mistake and processed it as "Return to Sender". I made a complaint at Canada Post, but it seemed to be too late. SO I communicated to the Seller that it was going to be returned back to him, unless he called them to tell Canada Post not to send it back and make another attempt to give it to me. Canada Post is supposed to allow 15 days for other attempts before doing "Return to Sender". The Seller did nothing, he did not contact them when it could have been saved! The Seller told me that Ebay will handle this, not him. BUT that is not true, Canada Post will NOT listen to an Ebay Representative, they will only listen to the actual sender. SO my sender did not listen to me and screwed up again. So then I waited to hear back from my sender to see when he got it back. So from May to now July I was waiting for my sender to tell me he got it and will send it back to me. But he has "ghosted me" for the last 4 weeks!
SO Ebay should guarantee like 90 days after the estimated delivery date.
Thanks for your help! I will call up Paypal then.

Yes, eBay has significantly restricted direct access to live chat, pushing users toward callback or automated options, which makes getting a live chat transcript inconsistent. While chat is still occasionally triggered, eBay's automated bot usually defaults to phone or email.
If a chat session does occur, eBay generally sends a transcript to your registered email upon completion. However, because chat is hard to access, many users report relying on alternative methods to get written records or real human help:
Request a Callback: Use eBay's Contact eBay portal, and opt for "Have us call you". For a more direct link to the callback menu, try the eBay Call Us page.
Use the Chat Bot workaround: If you specifically need a text-based chat, type
AGENTinto the eBay Chat with Us bot and hit enter until the option appears. Wait times may vary, and you may receive an email or callback option instead. For a musical interlude and a blast from the past:

·1 year agoI'd rather have a Chat, now that I've tried it.
No problems with my accent.
The rep has time to read my problem and either understand it , or ask another question or two.
It's not fast-- but fast/good/cheap.
We can see on these Boards when members post about a problem that all too often they leave out important details.
Constantly over on dotCOM, we see posts where the buyer was demanding where their package was. The seller was not sure what to do.
The questions the seller was asked were:
Have you been paid?
Have you shipped?
Do you have a tracking number?
When did you ship?
What is the estimated delivery date?
Did you use USPS or a courier?
Did you use eIS?
Has the buyer opened a Claim or just sent a Message?
After several emotional responses, the OP still had not answered those questions.
The OP had of course decided we were all working for eBay and his personal enemies.
Which makes me all the more sympathetic to the poor phone reps trying to get enough information to answer the questions.

·11 months agoThe extremely most most most important thing to do with speaking to anyone from eBay customer service is to clarify that you are located in Canada. If you get a different agent...clarify again. They most likely not see what you are seeing unless they switch sites if it is a technical issue. Put another way, most polite way i can think of...eBay dot com...a K Car 🙂....ebay dot ca....Ford Pinto. 🙃 Unsure what language the manual is in.

You may be better off asking your question here to get suggestions from experienced users.
To contact eBay, use the chat assistant that you reach from the Help & Contact page to request a chat with an agent or a call back.
What options you see may depend on your particular issue and how busy that department is at the moment.
Try entering "agent" into the chat window. You may have to provide some context to reach the correct department. If you see a "Still need help?" or "More options" choice, either of those should lead to a call back option.
If nothing else works, try this link:

If you are unable to get a call back, that may be for several reasons; a location outside of North America, VOIP phone, and call blockers (personal or that of a service provider) are often issues.

·1 year agoMy home phone is VoIP and I haven't had any issues with call back. I don't think there is a problem with lines outside N. America, but I guess it depends on the actual location.

Good to know! I have seen complaints about VoIP phones getting a call back, but not lately, so perhaps eBay has addressed the issue or else it does not affect all VoIP numbers.

·1 year agoperhaps Ebay should address the issue by making it simple to contact live customer service people instead of doing their best to hide them. You know, giving GOOD customer service like they expect us to give our buyers?

Hopefully going forward with AI being attached to ALL discussions eBay CAN be more reactive including responsive with follow up with known issues that are reported here daily. Fingers crossed!!!
