Almost all organization I related to informed me "A potential canada post service distruption" by email, or their websites. I'm sure other canadians are experencing the same. I get to see the news about canada post strike on every news channel everyday. I can't put my store on vacation, but I did update my profile with "there will be no sale during this time". And yet, there's a person who still purchases an item from me. This leads to "why doesn't ebay notify buyers a potential canada post service distruption?" I tried buying something from ebay, and I didn't see any warning from ebay. In fact, I've gone through 3 canada post strike including current one, and they never did. The reason is pretty obvious, but sellers can't only be the ones who are resoponsible for informing buyers. Ebay must update their checking out page with a warning. It's not that hard. Simply put a warning message right above "Pay with".

·1 year agoI am pretty miffed. Without consulting sellers, eBay removed Canada Post as a shipper, and yet idiotically did not remove it as a shipper option for buyers.
I am small-time seller, listing used music CDs typically $10 for the item, and $7 s/h to USA and Canada.
I sold several CDs, with the buyer paying that $7 CP s/h rate, but my only shipping options were UPS and Fedex starting at $17, which means I am givibng away items for free and paying eBay a service charge for the privilege.
This is lunacy.
I have had to put my store on time-off away, delisting items for the time being while I try to solve and rectify the issue(s). And, again, paying eBay a store fee for the privilege.
Is there a way I can remove Canada Post as a shipper from all my listings so that it isn't an option and I can relist my items and buyers know the ACTUAL s/h cost?
Or do I have to go in and remove CP as a shipper on each-and-every item?

·1 year agoFYI. I sold a watch last week. To a buyer in QC (I'm in ON). I shipped it on Saturday via Canada Post. It was delivered today (quite fast!). No issues at all, with the threat of strike looming and everything.
At this point, I'd say that such warnings are unnecessary, but the situation is still volatile. Time will tell...

·1 year agoI have been shipping to Canada and the US with CP and no glitches at all and usual delivery times. I would guess that volume is down so less pressure on the system. If there is a notice of an impending strike or lockout, then a notice would be warranted.

OP1 year agoOh boy, you can't even understand the fact that not everyone's a premium seller? Also, the point was ebay should have been warning the buyers about the canada post srike when checking out.
