Would you pursue this?
I sold a CD on June 28, shipped June 29 from BC to Quebec. On July 17/ buyer posted "good item, good packaging but slow shipping" So he would have marked slow shipping and now on my global seller level, it has a ding under late shipment rate. I shipped the next day. If the buyer posted the same day it looks like it took 3 weeks to get to him. The fact I sent it the next day should count for something. Would you call ebay to try to get the ding removed.

·3 weeks agoDid they also ding your stars? Or was it just their opinion in feedback?
FB is not used by eBay to assess member accounts because it is just an opinion. And probably also because the robots can't read and understand the nuances.
For future customers-- keep in mind that most will never read your positive FB. (Most will never read any FB --- sellers with 80% FB ratings get sales still.)
You could add a Response. "Paid 1/1/2026. Shipped 1/2/2026 from Canada. Rec'd in USA 10/1/2026." Leaving any Response to a positive is usually a Bad Idea since it draws attention to the negative within the positive.
Leaving a Response to a negative can be useful if you can be calm and professional, especially if the buyer was erratic.

·3 weeks agoIs it tracked? If it's tracked, you should be able to get it removed. If it's not tracked, ebay has no way of knowing when you actually shipped and the buyer would have to indicate whether or not he got it on time. I wouldn't pursue it if there's no tracking.

·Aug 11, 2026 at 11:23 AMThe main issue is the time it took to arrive, not how quickly you shipped out. And the former depends on the type of shipping service, and other external factors over which you have no control.
I imagine that you ship letter mail to remain cost effective and profitable, but of course delays are the main caveat, along with the inability to track.

Anything I send to the eis hub from Calgary (routinely takes 12 to 15 days) where the shipping defaults to letter mail and automagically gets marked as late because according to eBay the item does not have tracking even though it shows as processed by hub when it does eventually arrive.
It's never been an issue with anything covered under Global going within Canada. It's only a problem under USA TSR's. From the reverse perspective US sellers are able to send domestically/to US hub using tracked services for letter sized items, so no similar type issues for them.
As you noted, sending it the next or even same day SHOULD count for something but not according to eBay. I tried on a couple occasions pleading my case to CS. Fell on deaf ears.
USA
For Canada 120 shipments in 1 year period. 1/4 were letter with 0 late dings.

·Aug 11, 2026 at 8:19 AMI highly doubt they'll remove the ding. Three weeks is a long time, and likely longer than the estimated delivery window. This kind of problem is the reason I don't send things lettermail anymore (I assume that's how you sent it). Back in early 2024 lettermail was fast and reliable. It seems like it's luck of the draw now.
