I ship orders almost exclusively via Canada Post Lettermail within Canada from Prince Edward Island, and have been doing so for 15+ years.
My shipping policy is Economy Shipping 1-10 business days and my handling time is 1 business day.
Shipping is included in all eBay listings (Free Shipping).
Regardless of if I pick:
Economy Shipping 1-10 business days
Canada Post Lettermail 4-6 business days
Standard Shipping 1-7 business days
Canada Post Expedited Lite 1-8 business days
"Free 4 day delivery" is being advertised to buyers in various parts of the country. I notice that Toronto and surrounding areas causes this incorrect estimate to be advertised to buyers.
If I set the postal code to my very own postal code (C0A 1H5), it advertises 1-10 business days which reflects the shipping option I have chosen. If I set the postal code to Barrie, Ontario (L4M 0A2), it advertised Free 4 Day delivery.
The estimated shipping timeframe needs to be adjusted so that regardless of postal code, it shows buyers 1-10 business days. All 4 shipping options mentioned above are affected by this.
The amount of negative feedback and cases opened by buyers who don't receive their purchase in 4 days is very high accordingly. This is a recent change on eBay, and needs to be changed back to how it was previously.

·3 weeks agoWe get Global Top Rated status which shows in Canada and overseas but not in the USA. On the other hand, it is easier to achieve. (Fewer tracked shipments required.)

·1 month ago · EditedThis has now been an ongoing issue for me for almost two months.
I have a 'K' postal code, and Ebay is currently showing the expected delivery date for my free economy shipping option to buyers in postal codes 'K', 'L', 'N', 'T', and 'V' as July 15-17. To buyers in all other postal codes the date range is displayed correctly as July 16-29.
So Ebay is telling people in Vancouver (more than 4500 km away) that their purchase will arrive in no more than four days and telling people in Toronto (less than 200 km away) that it may take up to sixteen days.
I have tried making 'expedited' the primary option and the free economy shipping a secondary option, but that didn't help. I have also tried increasing the price of economy shipping from free to one cent, but that didn't help either.
Because Ebay is currently allowing buyers in BC to demand their money back if their 'economy' shipped purchase does not arrive in four days, I have kept my Ebay store closed for most of the past six weeks.

OP3 weeks agoSince I ship almost exclusively via Canada Post Lettermail, I will never meet the requirements to be a "Top Rated Plus" seller as all shipments require tracking numbers. "Top Rated Plus" sellers require the same or 1 business day handling time. "Top Rated" sellers (which is my status) don't have a maximum handling time requirement. I've changed my handling time from 1 to 15 business days. For the time being, this solves all my problems.
Not a pretty solution, but the only one I have with eBay's refusal to fix this issue.

·3 weeks agoI think the top rated plus only applies to USA anyway, so if you're listing on dot ca and selling within Canada then it's pretty much irrelevant to you. We do still get the 10% fee discount when being top rated for domestic sales.
