Another feebay deal gone wrong
Summary: universaljuvenile shared their frustration with a failed transaction where they canceled a sale and refunded the buyer, yet still faced shipping charges from a vendor. Despite contacting customer service and voiding the UPS shipping label, charges persisted, leading to overdraft issues. Others in the discussion noted similar problems and challenges with unused UPS labels. universaljuvenile was informed that refunds could be delayed due to third-party involvement. Several contributors, including john_koenig99, expressed disappointment with the platform's support for sellers, and jtcashman mentioned avoiding similar issues by not using UPS.
Hello all,
I’m looking for answers on yet another feebay disaster before I close my account for a second and final time. No help from customer service.
I cancelled a sale, refunded the buyer, and voided the shipping label. (UPS for some reason)
Now feebay is trying to collect the shipping cost and fees.
Even UPS hounded the buyer and myself after explaining to a representative that there is no shipment.
Oh how I miss the early days of penny auctions and simple transactions!
I’ve really had it this time.
Rico
Since posting I’ve found a few similar posts… seems to be happening a lot?

·1 week agoI stopped using UPS for that reason.

OP2 weeks agoWell here we are three weeks later.
Just talked to feebay again and now they are claiming the money has to come from a third party shipping company that they use. 🙄
Give it another week they say.
Boy I wish I could keep other people’s money in my daily interest bank account! Lol

OP1 month agoOkay folks after much digging I finally found ebay's phone number and talked to a real person! 1-866-540-3229
Ebay acknowledges the label was indeed canceled and that they’re trying to get their money back from UPS while recouping it from me as well.
Meanwhile UPS admits the label was canceled and that the item was never in their hot little hands.
Thanx to all, I’ll post when (if?) this is resolved.
Cheers!

OP1 month agoWe’ll crap!
They (Feebay) just circumvented my stop payment order and somehow got the money from an account I no longer use. This in turn put me into overdraft which adds to the total I am now out.
Apparently talking with one of their agents does nothing?
I don’t know if I should insert an LOL emoji or a turd one here.

·1 month agoYou're correct about unused UPS labels getting charged. Quite a few posts about this. And I don't think it has been a clear resolution for this.

OP1 month ago · EditedThanx John,
I called them again, went from the Philippines to India, then to the states and apparently a refund is coming… could take two weeks they said!
I thought you could just hit a button! Lol

·1 month agoI just voided a UPS label (not an eBay transaction) by going to Paypal.
Just saying.
Might not be useful.

edited to add:
This was going to US and UPS was trying to collect duties/brokerage from the buyer?

This is directly tied to NOT being able to actually void a label. Being able to do so is just a necessary evil of creating labels with how billing is handled. As per eBay sellers are NOT supposed to be charged if a label is never physically processed.
marnotom!
·1 month agoIf I’m understanding the OP’s situation correctly, the sale was cancelled before anything was shipped, so import-related charges wouldn’t be an issue in this instance, and there wouldn’t be tracking.
universaljuvenile
OP1 month agoNo tracking as item never shipped.
They did try to charge me a fee for every day they ”held on to” the item that didn’t exist however.
jtg204
·1 month ago · EditedDo you have a tracking number for the unused label from ebay though?
If you enter this on UPS website (not ebay's tracking), does UPS show any statuses for being created, and then an 'on the way'? I was asking to compare yours to what others have had as tracking updates with unused UPS labels (example).
Did UPS contact the buyer for the same 'held on to' fees, then moved to contacting you? Or UPS was adding more charges through ebay system? I don't recall others having this part happen to them.
