Which is a little bit misleading as it's actually only 20% off current on-line pricing (5% discount is already built into the "regular" price).

Having said that, 20% is better than 0%:-D

Sent my first Expedited Parcel to Quebec, instead of costing the usual $11.50 it only cost $8.50.

I was able to refund a Canadian for excessive shipping..it was kinda nice for a change......;)

Its still not enough .

For usa parcel 25% for a service that's 12-15 business days its unacceptable .

Ok so instead of paying 15.00 for a 1 kg package your paying 11.25 but it still takes half a month to 3/4's of a month on average to get there Which is a HUGE issue .

Why does it take canada post almost 10 business days to get the packages outta the country ???

I bet that 11.25 package is costing them 3.00$$ to get delivered once it hits usa side and goes into the hands of ups or usps .

Doing ebay outta canada is very hard as it is .. Canada posts unreliable services outside canada make it that much harder . With all there fee's there increasing and axing commercial expedited this is just a Dry Crusty piece of bread good will offering . Garbage .

Amero, you are using USPS, arent you ?

USPS FCM costs 1/10 ~ 1/4 of CanadaPost Expedited and you can buy a DC (tracking) for $0.80 at counter or $0.19 when shipping through Endicia. Priority Mail get you a DC at $0.00 from Endicia, but I did not notice much difference in delivery speed between PM and FCM.

With USPS you get 2-3 days continental US coverage.

It does not work like this. One national post office does not pay to another per parcel, but there are rules set by universal postal union. These rules are very disadvantaging for national post office in vast countries with low population density and OTOH the rules prefer small countries with very high population concentration - which also explains why is it cheaper to send something from China or Hong-Kong than from Canada to Canada.

CanadaPost is not super-profitable despite high prices we pay. We are basically subsidizing international inbound mail. Complain to CP ombudzman, urge them to get the Universal Postal Union rules changed.

How do you explain that a package from Canada to Europe can take just 4 or 5 days but a package to the U.S. takes 10 days?
My guess is that the time difference is because of the time it takes to go through U.S. customs compared to customs in other countries. And that has nothing to do with Canada Post.

Canada Post isn't perfect but you seem to blame them for things that aren't necessarily in their control.

It only takes 1-2 days to get a package out of Canada,
(whether it is to the states or internationally,)

so after 1-2 days it is in the US, after that it it is up to USPS
that is where the problem lies.
It is not with Canada Post.....

hey guys.. my boxes are 16x16x16 cm but it doesnt fit the minimum expedited parcels on ebay.. but when I go to the post office i am able to ship with expedited.. what should i do..

I put your measurements using Canada Post on paypal, no problem.

It gave me the price with the nice discount. I had to guess at the weight but it worked.

Don't know what you could have done wrong.

Those boxes should be ok to use in Canada. I always use paypal shipping and often use 15x15x15cm boxes. But I can't use them in the U.S. because the minimum size for U.S. expedited is higher.
I'm surprised the post office wouldn't follow the same standards though.

The only thing that I can think of to suggest is to use different boxes when you ship to the U.S.

yeah i meant when i ship expedited to the usa... i guess i have to buy 8x6x6 boxes in order to be able to ship online.. although the post office lets me ship 6x6x6 to the usa.. really strange..

its with canadapost and when you use expedited.. you will see the discount right before u pay for the shipping..

We often use boxes that are technically too small.

However, we simply put in fake dimensions but the real weight and then we can print a label.

Works like a charm, every time 🙂

Yep. have to agree with the others that the delays shipping to the US are due to customs and are not due to Canada Post.

ameropaintball we have been telling you this over and over again in reply to all your frustrations with the postal delivery.

I was looking for it under "Merchant Services", "Auction Tools" and "Products and Services" but the furthest I got was a blah-blah "Simplify Your Shipping With PayPal" brochure page.

Basically my wife want's to send a Christmas present to her friend and she wants to utilize the discount. I sent $0.01 to her PayPal account and when she clicked "Print Shipping Label", was able to change address. But I had to specify the payment as for "Goods", not "Services" otherwise the print label function was unavailable.

Recped, your "shipnow" link is definitely better. Thanks again.
