3 day auction fees

I planned to use up some of my monthly 50 free listings with some 3 Day Auctions

I noticed when I was making the listings that the 3 day listings showed a fee of 1 dollar each. When I changed the listing to either 7 day auction OR Buy It Now, the fee went down to zero

I looked up exemptions from the 50 monthly free listings, and 3 Day Auctions are not listed as exempt from the monthly free listings

It's not worth it for me to pay 1 dollar each to list these, but I wanted to do 3 day because of Christmas coming up so fast.

Does anyone know if I can do a 3 day Auction listing using my 50 monthly free listings.

3 day auction fees

http://pages.ebay.ca/help/sell/fees.html

Special duration fee: Use of 1- or 3-day listing durations.

Extra charge of $1.00

So a "free" listing with 1 or 3 day length is a minimum of one dollar.

1 and 3 day listing got the surcharge at the same time as the 10 day listing lost it (Spring 2015 update).

3 day auction fees

Thanks for the quick answer, I guess I'm back to 7 days

I wish this stuff would show up in the help files when I look. Maybe it's just me, wrong search words or something, but I hardly ever find the information I'm looking for. I find information but.....

Thanks again

I usually use google to search ebay help rather than try to use ebay's annoying search function. In this case I used "ebay.ca selling fees" for my google search string (admitedly I was cheating since I had a general idea of which help page had the 1 and 3 day info on it).

I think it is more important that it show up in the Sell Your Item form, just before you click on List Your Item.

I find the Help listings difficult to access and hard to read, even with a degree in English and a career as a writer and editor.

The problem with the information in the Sell Your Item form, is that I just don't trust it anymore. Admittedly I am still going through withdrawal symptoms from Turbo Lister, but I've been led down the garden path a couple times by trusting what I was seeing in the listing form.

I am getting used to it, and most of the problems are probably me getting used to doing things differently, but I never know what screen I am going to get when I go to do some listings, and there seems to be a certain order of operations or something that if it is not followed things don't work, so I'm very cautious.

In this case I found the page I was looking for in the eBay Help - exemptions from 50 monthly free listings -  BUT 3 day auctions were not shown as exempt from the free listings. So the help files were telling me one thing and the Listing Form which I've grown not to trust was telling me something else.

I did what I always do in cases like this. I came here to get sorted out. I love this forum. I'm surprised it is not more active, and sorry that it seems to have shrunk in the last couple months, as in we've lost a couple regulars.

Anyway, thanks for the help.

For "free" listings only the base price is reduced to "free" all the other add-ons and restrictions still cost.

It would be better if eBay excluded 1 and 3 day listings completely from the "free" allowance, since there is no possible way to list 1 and 3 day for zero cost.

Doh!! Ok I get it. So you do get the free listing and save 5 or 30 cents or whatever BUT you pay 1 dollar extra for the 3 day listing. I know when they have promos, 1 and 3 day listings are excluded and that is very strait forward and easy to see.

I went through the help files again to see if I could find this easier, and it is as clear as mud, and one would be lucky to find what they were looking for. I finally did find it after following a trail of links....tacked on to the bottom of Advanced Upgrade Listing Fees - Special Duration 1 & 3 day listings 1 dollar.

I can say that without this thread, I would not have looked past the fee chart where the heading is Starting or Buy It Now price: under $150 -

1, 3, 5, 7, and 10-day duration.

I agree they should take the 1 and 3 day out of the original chart completely  if there is an extra fee for them. The way it is now is pretty misleading.
