5 CENT LISTING DAY MAY 31st

This is a great relist option after last weeks promotion.... My week has been unusually slow!

If you relist items using the 5 cent option and the item sells, do they give you credit for the first or the second listing fee? I have never been quite sure about this.

The second. This is like a do-over from last weeks 20 cent promo.

It doesn't make much sense to actually "relist" when the upside is only 5 cent refund if it sells. Sell similar and save the relists for full price days or at least the .20 promos.

On .ca you always get credited for the 2nd insertion fee on a relisted sale (for now...)

On .com you always get the lower insertion fee between the original/relist.

Its a huge advantage for .ca.

Good point. How long do you have to relist? Is there a specified window?

Read the fine print on this one as there is a new "twist" regarding the use of the BIN feature.

Hello buckingham303,

"You must relist the item within 90 days of the closing date of the original listing."

See below for more information:

Its always said 90 days...its always worked as long as the listing is still in the system (typically 5-6 months). Lately there have been so many listing days I haven't had to go back to use old ones so I can't say if that has quietly changed like many other things they've done to increase their yield.

Great ideas here. I'm re-thinking the way I relist and move items in and out of my store. Thanks.:-)

Hi! I'm new to this discussion board (just received my powerseller status which I'm very proud of!) & I'm wondering what your experiences have been listing on 5/20 cent listing days (specifically, are sales reduced because of the extra listings that occur on those days)?

In my case, I start all my listings at 99 cents (it's a bit of a risk but I've found it tends to attract more bidders than average to the type of items I sell & I've rarely been burned by low bids), so the lower listing fee isn't a huge savings and I rarely list more than 12 items/day (so it's not a huge volume savings either)... I do have some items scheduled to list on Thursday (the 31st), but would it be better to maybe delay them until my next planned listing day so they don't happen on a day when lots of others are also listing the same items?

By the way, I'm currently selling mostly video games (some newer, some vintage), so there tends to be a lot of duplicate listings on these reduced fee days.

Thank you in advance for your feedback, it's much appreciated!

hi jason...just looking at your listings...you seem to do very well, especially since you start off at .99, you seem to have a very good selection of items that are attracting lots of bids...like you said, i would have thought videos would be an area with lots and lots of competition, but you're doing something right..

Hi Jason,

Welcome & congrats!

I take advantage of discount listing days on .ca. Most of my stuff is relatively higher priced so there is a big savings to be had. .com discount days usually just flood the market so I tend to avoid listing any more than I usually would on those days.

This is what I have been doing because I figured they would probably credit you with the lesser amount. But it is nice to know for sure now. Thanks everyone!

Hi. Although you can relist an item within a 90 day window. the unsold items only appear in the "unsold" selling view fow 60 days. Any ideas other than keeping the unsold emails for 90 days, that I can get the extra 30?
Always learning.:-)
Thanks.

I user Turbo Lister & I find it very convenient for relisting auctions: If you synchronize your listings in the program with ebay you can go back through the ended listings tab where it will have the individual item #'s noted (I belive it stores up to 90 days)... you then click on the item, select relist & voila, it's relisted with the old item # referenced correctly for your refund. I've had good success using this method (fortunately, I haven't had to do it very often!) & never had an issue receiving the credit back from ebay. Hope this helps!
