Hi Everyone,

In between watching CNN and all that has/is happening in the States with the economy and the presidential elections I've been chugging along getting my listings back into my store.

I'm delighted to say that I finally hit 800 listings returned to my store! YEAH!

However, I still have 2200+ to go!

I'm getting there!

And, I'm sure I'll arrive just in time to put my store on vacation when I go to Ottawa in November! *LOL*

Hope all of you are enjoying some beautiful fall weather. The leaves are almost off the trees, the grass is not growing anymore. I guess it's almost time for the white stuff which will remain nameless to fall from the sky!

Have a great night!

Hi Susan,

It is nice to see that you are making progress with your revisions. Did you get the shipping all worked out? I know that was going to be a headache for you.

We have had beautiful weather all week although I haven't been outside much. There is rain coming in for the weekend though.

Good luck with the listings and getting your store open again.

Hiya Susan
I'm glad to see you're making progress!! I need to learn to have more, hmmmm, I can't think of the word(happens when you get older), but I need to get my butt in gear and get listing.

The weather here has been cooler and my daughter even turned the furnace on the other day. I'm too stubborn, I'm not turning it on until at least October. Today is nice and sunny and I keep thinking I should go do some yard work, but then that is just another good excuse not to do listings...lol. But then again doing listings is good excuse not to do yard work.:^O

Oh, I wanted to ask you Susan, this summer I think it was you had some problems with a seller copying your pics and listings I believe. How can you tell when someone takes a copy of your pic? I have the watermark on mine, but people can just cut that off and use your pic. I have started using my store name across the item now but I'm not going to replace all the ones that don't have it.

Have a Great Week Everyone!

Hi Colleen,

I'm up to 930 listings done! Several thousand more to go! *LOL* I'm sure that I'll get it done in time for me to put my store on vacation for when I'm off to Ottawa on November 26th OR...when eBay has yet even more changes!

Okay...to answer your question....

First, in your SSB account....look under Preferences and look down the long list until you find:

Do not use the `NO RIGHT CLICK` script in listings

MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS NO CHECK MARK IN THAT BOX.

This will ensure that you have right click protect on your listings. Mind you to KEEP the right click protect for your listings..DO NOT EDIT THE LISTING TEXT once in Blackthorne. Apparently BT gets rid of the right click coding if you make even a slight change to the listing text.

How can you tell if someone has copied your pic? I've just happened upon the pics OR other sellers or my buyers have e-mailed me to alert me of the problem. I then go and check them out. You can tell that they are your pics if they are linked to your SSB account or even a Photobucket or Auctiva account by clicking on the picture and getting the properties of the photo in the listing. My SSB account# appeared which is PROOF POSITIVE that the offending sellers had indeed stolen my pics. That's when you copy and paste the listing number into SSB and it will block YOUR picture in the thief's listing. Such harsh words...but it is what it is.

You can choose to have the BIG RED CIRCLE with the line through it that says STOLEN IMAGE-Displayed has been suppressed by image owner OR you can be nice and just have a red X appear.

Mind you...when I spot my photos being used...if it is one or two, I do write to the seller and request they take them down...and I put the X up first. If they don't comply...I then check the box to have the STOLEN IMAGE appear. That's when sellers realize they are truly CAUGHT. The blocking of images is done under the IMAGE heading...in the drop down list look for Image Block.

There's no way that I am going back and marking all of my photos, however all of my new products have my watermark image on them...small version of part of my store logo. I PUT IT RIGHT WHERE NO ONE CAN TAKE IT OUT unless they ruin the entire photo however..viewers of my pics do not miss out on what the stickers, etc. are. Before I would just put momoftwingles2...and before that...nothing. However...different backgrounds or putting unique frames around items makes your pictures stand out and easier to spot.

I know there are still a few sellers out there using some of my pics....just haven't gotten around to it...but mind you it may be just one pic and not 100's!

Let me know if I can help you further!

Now on to Crafty Secrets listings! Or should I do laundry? Hmmmm?

Have a good one!

Hiya Susan
Wow you're just motoring along. Thanks so much for the info. You're always such a big help in here. I will go and look into that about the pics.

So I got motivated the other day after reading your post about your listing progress and decided I was going to start doing mine. I don't know what I did, but the 397 listings that I did have, I erased all of the item description pages, that I painstakingly copy and past into the Blackthorne item description. I mean gone just like that. All I had left was the item picture in the item description. All I could think was "Susan said it would be a learning curve" LOL. Were you ever right!!!

Luckily some of my auctions had bids on them so they didn't change. So I started over and copied and pasted them back in. At least I had most of them saved in SSB. Then I tell my hubby the next day and he says "well don't you have a back-up". Thud!!! My head against the wall. "Of course I do". I went and looked and did the restore to the last back up which only brought me to Sat night before more listings were posted. I didn't do this brilliant thing until Sunday. I knew I should have done yard work...LOL.

Then I imported the I had processed Sat night and redid the item description in those. But then I couldn't figure out how to get all the correct postings now in Blackthorne(yes, I did do a new Back-up) to Ebay! I shut-off the automatic back-ups.

The next day when I was at my real job I had a brilliant idea. I selected 25 at a time, if I do more this computer freezes, and selected revise. When that popped open I clicked "Revise All". Then went to Ebay into my store and checked one of the listings. That worked and I now had info & pic in the item description. I'm sure there is a much quicker simpilier way to do this but I'm happy they were back.

Now the good news I finally have 12 new listings posted last night and it only took me 3 days. LOL, it's no wonder I hate it. I still really like this program and had I not had the experience from Turbo Lister I would have been doing all of them over again. Anyways I thought this would be good for a giggle.

Have a Wonderful Day!

Hi Colleen,

Okay...I'm confused! What did you do? Did you erase/delete listings in Blackthorne or in SSB?

I just keep templates in SSB. What I do is just change the names of the stickers and change the pics. Much easier to make these than starting from scratch for each one.

But...do let me know what you did....if you deleted BT stuff...you can import everything back in.

I'm now up to 982 listings and still lots more to go!

Hiya Susan
I deleted the item descriptions in BT. I hadn't erased any listings in BT or SSB. Only item description info on all my listings. Thankfully I had all my SSB's that I was cutting and pasting back into the item description for each listing. Importing wouldn't have helped because all of those had updated to the no info Item Descriptions on each listing. Then when I told my hubby the next day he asked if I had back-ups. Which I do, so I was able to back-up to sat night when all the listings still had item descriptions. Then I imported the new listings I did sat night after the back-up had been done & then cut and paste my SSB item descriptions back in. I was done in about 1/2 hour. Compared to thinking I had to cut and paste all the listing info back in.

Hope this explains things better. If not, just understand I had a huge mess that I thought would have taken days to correct.

I have learned the big lesson. Do back-ups before trying something new!!! The next thing I need to do is read how to do things and not just to go ahead and try...lol.

Have a Wonderful Week Susan and WTG on your listing count! It will be interesting to see what comes first, your listings complete or your trip with your girls to go and see your daughter & husband when your grandbaby is born.
