Hello All,
Does anyone know of a practical way for a Canadian seller to get an Interac payment channel set up in the US?
I'll explain. Whenever possible with our sales to Canada we use electronic money transfer. Easy. Cheap. Reliable. No surprises. It's worked for us on sales from $10 to $2,500
I'm wondering if we can do that with the US or is that part and parcel of setting up an account with a US bank? We're presently banking at TD.
Any advice you could give us would be appreciated.
Brad

Unfortunately, the United States does not have 'Interac' in the way that we think of it here in Canada. Canadians are the #1 users of debit cards in the world. It's practically unheard of to be using debit cards to buy 'regular' items (groceries, food, etc) in the United States.
When an American says 'debit card', they really mean 'credit card' connected to a bank's debit system (much like the PayPal 'debit card' is really a MasterCard connected to your PayPal account.) So, if you can accept credit cards, you can accept American 'debit cards.'
